I used noodles with #zoodles to make this dish #21dsdapproved. Since my family is not fully partaking in the detox, they had rice noodles. . . I also made the sauce from scratch to be sure to avoided hidden sugars. Store bought pasta sauce is one of the main culprits for having sugar in them. And making sauce isn't to difficult...you just need some tomatoes, onions, garlic and spices to suit your taste. Day 5 - Dining out on the  #21DSD — Okay, so maybe you were a hermit all week, skipping lunch with coworkers and eating prepped meals on your couch, but we know as the weekend approaches, you may be itching to go out and be social. — Guess what?! YOU TOTALLY CAN! Just because you are completing a  #21DSD does not mean you should stay in your house and eat only the meals that you have perfectly prepped. — In fact, we encourage you to get out there and experience the detox outside of your workplace or house! Remember, we want you to learn as much as you can during these 3 weeks, so getting outside of your comfort zone WILL help and if you are worried about accidentally eating something off-plan, simply keep moving forward. This weekend I'm taking over the stories for the @21daysugardetox page! In light of this, I wanted to share more with you about how the 21-Day Sugar Detox has impacted my life. . In early 2016 I stumbled upon the 21DSD while scrolling though Pinterest at midnight (seriously). The program claimed to be beneficial for skin conditions such as acne. At the time I was struggling HARD with my skin. It seemed like anything I tried never really helped to clear the cysts. I decided to try the program because I was allowed to eat sweet potatoes and I found a recipe for a compliant chocolatey not-sweet-treat - not kidding. . After 21 days my skin was visibly less inflamed and had fewer cysts. It wasn't the miracle transformation I had dreamed of, but it was encouraging progress. . I bounced back and forth to the 21DSD throughout 2016 (as one does). In early 2017 I comitted myself seriously to the program and in summer 2017 I jumped at the opportunity to become a coach. Finding a consistent "21DSD lifestyle" template that I felt good about was the key to my long term success, clear skin, and confidence. . I've stuck with this eating style not out of obligation but because I WANT to. I feel better and my skin looks better. Some days are hard and it's an active CHOICE to stay on track and other days I don't have to think twice about it. . Come join me this weekend on the 21-Day Sugar Detox stories. What to Expect on Day 4 of the #21DSD: "Three days down, eighteen to go!" Mood changes, as well as minor skin irritations and acne may occur today. Acne is a common detox symptom and is a great sign that your body is working to clear toxins! Remember that AWARENESS is key when it comes to your mood. Try not to react too harshly to those around you... your diet changes are likely affecting your mood more than you realize. In the meantime... for your skin, add in milk thistle (tea, tincture, or capsules) and ginger tea to aid in detoxification ;) You may also use this opportunity to start checking your skincare products for ingredients that may cause further irritation, such as parabens, oxybenzone, and more.
