•I promise I wasn’t as miserable as I looked in this!• 🙈 Yoga this morning was so welcomed by my creaking body! It feels pretty wrecked after this week but this morning I took some time out to stretch. Maybe I also need crisps... •Happy leg day• Absolutely fantastic leg day but was seriously jelly shaking by the end of circuit 2! Managed to do one more circuit but then had to admit I needed my legs for the school run and they’d be no use as jelly! •Scrambled tofu• I NEVER thought this would work. The very idea used to make me first go 🤨then 🤢 . I was WRONG❌! This is really delicious and honestly, no one was more surprised than me! . ▪️Recipe: ▪️Fry 2 spring onions, 1/2 a red chilli, 1 sliced clove of garlic in 1/2 tablespoon of olive oil, until soft (a couple of minutes) ▪️Add a handful of washed kale and fry until wilted a bit ▪️Crumble in about 75gr firm tofu and 1/4tsp ground turmeric and 2tbs nutritional yeast ▪️Fry off for a few minutes ▪️I added a drizzle of sriracha sauce Give it a go and is that deal if you’re following an egg free diet. •Start Now• ❌My baby weight did NOT just fall off ❌Breastfeeding didn’t make the extra weight “fall off” ❌Running around after twins didn’t make the weight “fall off” ⬆️ These were some of the things other mums had said to me about how they’d lost the baby weight (apparently it just “fell off”) and, honestly, it made me feel like I was failing and my body was failing. I felt like a failure. Some people “bounce back” (whatever that means) I am NOT one of those people 🙅🏻‍♀️, my body didn’t “bounce back”, although it did bounce! 🙈😂. I had joined a gym, did a few classes a week but wasn’t following a programme and, for me, THAT is what shifted things- following a workout plan. Starting with 30 Day Shred @jillianmichaels , then BBG @kayla_itsines (which I bought and didn’t start for 2 months!!) and now @alexia_clark ALL AT HOME 🏠 Then learning about how to tweak my nutrition. It’s a learning curve and I’m no way done! There’s nearly 1.5 years between those photos. That’s 1.5 years of exercising, of learning, of TRYING, of getting it wrong, of getting it right, of being ill and injured and missing workouts but still getting back up and trying the best I could. I was always so afraid to be “the beginner” and would get intimidated by other “fit women” and it wasn’t until someone said to me: 📣“we all had to start somewhere, the important thing is starting” #AMIRIGHT? There is no easy fix, just start, do your best and keep going. Every day is a new opportunity to do your best. •All the food• I’m still hungry from Monday’s leg day. 😱 @macromummy and @pushupsandburpees have you managed to eat enough yet? Seriously, I can’t get enough to eat. I had some crackers after this entire bowl of food 😱 .. No workout for me today as I slept terrible then had the dentist this morning so will be back at it tomorrow. •Vegan protein pancakes• YOU MUST TRY THESE. 🤤They are amazing 💖 @alexia_clark had waffles in her nutrition plan but I don’t know how to make waffles and don’t have a waffle machine so made these instead and they are the 💣😍😍😍 Ingredients: 🔹100gr buckwheat flour 🔹1 banana 🔹 250ml of a mix of cashew milk and hazelnut and cacao drink (I use @rudehealth ) 🔹1 scoop of vanilla protein powder (I use @vegateam_uk ) 🔹1tsp baking powder 🔹1/4tsp bicarbonate of soda 🥞blend until smooth 🥞put a small amount of coconut oil in a non stick pan, medium heat, and pour the pancake mixture in. •Flex, flex, flex• Blood brilliant upper body day. Loved it so much. My PLAN was to get up early and get it done before the school run but... well I think we all know what my mornings tend to go like... ie me in bed unable to get up and then a mad dash trying to get out the door on time. No mad dash this morning but certainly didn’t wake up at 6 as planned 🙄🙄🙄 Also, was STARVING by the end of C4 and had to skip the cardio until later as I honestly couldn’t wait for something to eat. Will plan to do C5 later. •Vegan GF DF dinner• Loaded sweet potato; some guacamole (where more is ALWAYS best!); yoghurt ( @coyo_uk is a great substitute for dairy yoghurt or @fage_uk is high in protein for a dairy alternative) and a bean topping. That is in my saved stories but any type of bean based curry would work well. The queen meals was a bean based stew but I needed some carbs with it so this is an adapted meal to make it work for me. I also NEEDED the avocado! 🙈 This was absolutely delicious and so filling. I’ve never liked sweet potato but I’m slowly changing my mind... •Looks like a little dance party for one!• . With my headphones 🎧 on I look like I’m swinging to a beat! 🎶 🤣I’m not! . I was a bit “meh” about today’s challenge and couldn’t find my groove. I started really late in the day and just couldn’t get into it, but it’s done! And I’m glad I did it! . HOWEVER, my elbows have had the skin rubbed off from all the planks 🔥😫. I know I said it on my stories, but it’s really really sore 🔥🔥 . Think that means I need to drink more tea and sit in my bum for the day! Obviously impossible with 3 kids still on Christmas holidays, but I like to try so let’s see how that goes...! 😂 . Happy Friday. •Wobbling all over the place!• ✨✨LOVED TODAY’S WORKOUT ✨✨ Filmed myself doing round 1 of this and it was slow and UNsteady! Some improvement by round 3 but I didn’t manage to film myself due to the MANY interruptions from the kids and then my grocery delivery! 🙄 Loved this new move and can’t wait to see improvements as time goes on.. anyone else enjoy this? In an unprecedented move I opted for a slow steady 10 minute run for my cardio (mainly so I could get out of the house and away from my kids who were annoying me beyond measure! 😡) which was fine but not as fun as the C5 looked. Amazing full body workout. This doesn’t look nearly as tasty as it was. (Must enrol on a good photography class!) It was really really delicious and I made extra for lunch tomorrow too. The plate was inspired by a @ginabnutrition plate I saw on her page last week. The mushrooms, broccoli, kale and spinach were sautéed in a bit of coconut oil and garlic then chilli and tamari added towards the end. Sesame seeds sprinkled on top. The chickpeas were mixed with olive oil, salt, smoked paprika and curry powder then roasted for 20 minutes until crispy. I also had this with quinoa but forgot to put it on for the plate for the photo 🙈 Happy Wednesday 🎉The kids are still off school but hoping to get out for a walk to clear the cobwebs. That means leg day is on hold until tomorrow (because I’ve slept in and won’t be able to fit it all in!) •L❤️VED it, but oh the PAIN of this move..!• And Such an apt song choice @spotify Thank you. @fortyfit.ammnyy i know you’ll appreciate that! 😘 .. My legs were still aching from Friday’s challenge and this was the move that I just could not complete without a break. Look at my face! 😂 ... HOWEVER (as @nikkigundy likes to remind us to do) I’m going to really big myself up on: 1. Low squat - hell yeah, thank you! 2. I still carried on. Did not give up and did circuits 1,2,3 &5. 🔥 3. I loved every second of it ... It’s so so important to focus on the positives, focus on what you DID, not what you couldn’t. Focus on all your achievements no matter how small. .... Today’s workout - LAST ONE OF 2018, was bloody brilliant. Every circuit was great but circuit one was my favourite. So sweaty 🥵 What was your workout like?
