👅👅👅 // I use a jacquard bottle instead of cones because I like it and it’s sustainable. Happy Monday.
#blackgirlmagic and #culturalappropriation || my entire intention for Henna Luna is to create space for YOU to feel safe, open, comfortable and beautiful. To appreciate everything that encompasses YOU. To adorn in a non painful or permanent way. To bring people and communities together. To be brought into those communities and to learn from others experiences. I recognize and own that I am white and privileged. I was told that “it’s fucked up you do henna, you’re not brown”....by a woman who works for Girl Scouts of America. I’ve since been afraid to have these important conversations. And if you know me at all you know I am not afraid to talk about anything, because I want to be informed. I do not want to be ignorant. Until we change the learned behavior that is racism I don’t think things will change. But I hope that conversations like the one I had with these two beautiful women this morning happen more often and in ways that actually create a movement to change the direction of our society. I voted for Hilary. I’m sick of being put in the “white women voted for trump” category. I know A LOT of people, who just didn’t vote AT ALL. Exercise your right to vote people, have conversations that call you out on your shit and learn from that. At least that’s a start. #comesitwithme
Support ALL women. Everyday. Not just cis women, not just women of your own color, not just women of your own culture....to stand together you must support ALL women. Men too. I have to go to work but I hope everyone participating enjoys the #womensmarch
