Throwback to Spain tour. Another night of <4hrs sleep, another day of trying to sleep and snap pretty photos from the back of a hot van before more sitting in airports, eating military cafeteria food, and sound-checks. ...God, I miss it so much. #DeadSerious #TakeMeBack

If you thought I was gonna visit Montgomery without eating at yelp’s top restaurant then you’re dumber than I look. Behold: the Lucky Luciano. #FoodComa

Wow, 7 days later and I’m back in the States. I can’t express how grateful I am to @rachellipsky and @armedforcesent for allowing me to bless the troops along with my friends and our gifts. Our AFE manager Joe promised more tours, but even if I don’t get to go again I will never forget this week. My head and heart are full from so many amazing moments with my new (and old) friends in Nashville. Big love to Cupcake, Biscuit, Gravy, Turkey, Corky, and Dirty Joe. Love always, your boy Blanket.

Enjoying a few pitchers of culture on a beach in Spain. Please don’t make me leave tomorrow, I can take a different flight! 🙏

Too busy mixing to take photos of the show, but here’s some photos of the day. Time to take an hour nap and head back to the airport at 4 😟.... . Some local meats, including the best blood sausage I’ve ever had, and fresh goat cheese. Also the stage we played today before soundcheck.

So blessed to be hanging out in Portugal with these hooligans. Thanks to @rachellipsky for bringing me on tour!

A young man arrived at the distillery Jenni and I are visiting and explained that his father and a group of local Vietnam vets were making their way in from the parking lot. Garrison didn’t hesitate to tell the man that each one of them would have the full flight of 5 whiskies on the house. I’m so happy to see these men in community with each other and I’m so happy to be supporting a business that honors these men. Note to self: stay in community, drink Garrison Bros (Especially their Estacado).

Me n’ my mommy. Happy Mother’s Day to all you incredible women who bust your buns trying to ensure the future generations don’t grow up hungry (or become jerks)!

Bottle 2 out of 24 that we brought back from New Zealand. We had to have one last dinner with our closest friends from our church before they head off to Yale for 5 years. So bittersweet to have this meal in their home one last time before they moved out, but so proud of them. {24APR18}

Sometimes you fight your car for 2 days and all you get in return is sunburnt and salty. Glad for learning experiences (and eventually tow trucks) {17APR18}

Day 9: A. Ham. When your theater-geek sister texts you that there are essentially 10 seats left for sale for the West End production of Hamilton, you absolutely charge that to your credit card. I know this show gets a lot of hype, but all I can say is: Don’t check out the soundtrack, just do WHATEVER it takes to see it live. It’s simply a masterwork.

Day 8: snapshots of Scotland. We slept in today then took to the streets of Inverness to visit the local Whisky Shoppe for a sampling and purchase a few drinks. We then took off to the Balblair distillery, one of Scotland’s older distillers. I really can’t describe how heavenly (no pun intended) the scent was in the dank, cold store room with all of the aging barrels- the angel’s share floats about and intoxicates. There were a few barrels with a wee leak (as pictured) which looked a little nasty, but you could touch your finger to and taste (and thoroughly enjoy) the drops of liquid gold. Drinking Scotch in Scotland was a bucket list item, but being here has only made me see how incredibly special the dram is and that we have to come back for a longer stay- I have to visit Islay!

Day 7: Scottish day out! After a short flight North, Jenni and I touched down in Inverness and got out ASAP in our little rental while the skies were still blue. We travelled to Ullapool and it’s surrounding areas and fell in love with the silent tranquility of Scotland.

Day 6: sick as a dog. Spent the day in bed while Jenni got to get out and explore the city a bit. I’ve been watching reruns of American Pickers and imagining I was going off to Hogwarts again...

Day 5: church, state, muggles, and magic. Today (well, yesterday) we visited the Westminster Abbey and saw the gorgeous tombstones of English monarchs past. We then took tube & train to the Warner Brothers studios in order to see the Harry Potter film set. The greatest part was certainly the stunning model of Hogwarts, but this 1:1 scale model of the Magic is Might sculpture was also massive, stunning, and evoked much thought. It was so impressive to see how much work went into making these incredible films, which made me want to hop the fence and check out what the Studio was currently filming in the other lots!

Day 4: London tower and Mel Brooks. Spent a lot of time staring at the Royal Jewels (I can now saw I’ve seen a diamond larger than my eye) then went off to gat the poo scared out of me at the London Bridge Experience. The ladies and I decided to catch the West End production of Young Frankenstein, which actually blew us away. Great time with the nephews today :)

Day 3: 3 museums and some industrial goth. We took a boat up the Thames to Greenwich and saw the prime meridian. We then went back to town, visited the Natural History Museum and then walked across the street to the breathtaking V&A museum. Jenni humored my desire to see some local music and we stumbled upon some techno/industrial goth bands at the Dublin Castle. We could only listen to so many songs about fornicating with the devil, so we made our way to the World’s End. Loving exploring this city!
