Since I released my Gay Love Songs EP in March, I’ve been writing and recording songs for my next EP. A couple weeks ago, I wrote a song called ‘When I Was a Teen.’ When I listen to it, I cry. I’ve played it for a few people and watched them cry. I’m actually starting to cry right now writing this haha. Anyway, I wasn’t intending on sharing this so soon, but I can’t get it off my mind. I wrote ‘When I Was a Teen’ to validate for myself, the very real experience I had as a confused and conflicted teenage person, as I think most of us were. I can remember so vividly asking over and over again, ‘Is there something wrong with me?’ and ‘What is the point of living?’ I wrote this song to try and send a message to my teenage self, to let her know that it’s going to be OK and that I will absolutely find the answer to those questions....to just hang in there. Crazy enough, my message was received. 💓 If you listen, I suggest really listening. Give yourself a moment, put on headphones or sit in a quiet room. ❤️🧡💛💚💙💜LINK IN BIO 💜💙💚💛🧡❤️ And if you don’t believe in magic, I’m sure you’ll enjoy it too.
