@banksy, another social disrupter, says what we all may need. So many are affected by the news in Washington over the past month and what’s going on in our world everywhere. Rest now so we can be stronger together tomorrow. #selfcare #solidarity #motivationmonday #building #respect #awareness #voices #engagement #communities #BRAVE #beBRAVE

@genderinblender sharing a Shane word... "acknowledgizing" acknowledging + apologizing. Own your lack of knowledge and ask what the appropriate language is. #nationalcomingoutday🌈

Happy #nationalcomingoutday🌈 to all!! We’re so excited to celebrate with @genderinblender tonight (Thurs 10/11) at @impacthubaustin north location at 6:30pm. We celebrate Indigenous People’s Day today and stand in solidarity with all our Native American and indigenous brothers and sisters. Now, more than ever, it’s crucial to lift each other up and promote what’s equitable. We see you, we hear you, and we celebrate YOU... not a colonizer who happened to stumble upon this land and bring so much pain to so many communities. #indigenouspeoplesday #solidarity #nocolumbusday #community #building #relationships #awareness #voices #engagement #brave #beBRAVE

Thank you to everyone that came out yesterday to our monthly Community Conversation on the school-to-prison pipeline. Beyond grateful to the panelists @sarateacher27 @tiffanininini @sherwynnpattonlifeanew Bianca Neal, Latreese Cooke, and Chief Gonzalez, that shared their time, passion, and wealth of knowledge of the disproportionate tendency of students from disadvantaged backgrounds to become incarcerated, because of increasingly harsh school, municipal policies, and racial and class biases and prejudices. And let's call it what is...a system that is built with an institutional racism design with disproportionate amount of black and brown students suspended and expelled in our schools. We'll be sharing more video snippets this week. If you want to view the whole conversation we have the event archived on BRAVE Communities Facebook page. Thank you to @greatermtzion for hosting us at your beautiful church. It takes each of us to be on the same page of truth and justice in order to change broken systems. Let's Build Relationships Awareness Voices and be Engaged.
