For those of you that didn’t know, this little guy joined our family 5 days ago. We are so in love with our Sebastian Reid! 💙
I spent all of my working years in salons/spas doing hair or massage (I had both licenses at one point) and retail. I loved this work! I love helping people look and feel beautiful and good about themselves. Like, love if I haven’t said it enough. 💁🏻♀️ While these careers were super fulfilling and I truly felt like I was doing the job I was made to do, the hours weren’t great and you work really hard for the money, which isn’t a lot.
When I got pregnant with Cece, Ryan and I saved and saved so that we could afford for me to stay home for a “normal” 12 week maternity leave. We spent every last dime and we had saved thousands. Every second at home, bonding with my child and adjusting to our new life was amazing and a little scary. What if we ran out of our savings, would I have to go back early? I wanted to be home with her more than anything.
Fast forward to now. This time around, I can work at my own pace and not stress about bills not being paid. I don’t talk about the business side of Beautycounter very often because honestly, I love what I do and to me it’s not about the money (even though of course we need it and this IS a job). But in this season, I can’t help but be reminded of how incredible it is to work, and work hard but feel so fulfilled, doing what I’ve always loved, helping people feel beautiful.
Today it’s not just helping women look and feel their best but also about making better decisions when it comes to buying personal care and other household products. The fact that I can do this from home is seriously a dream come true.
Thank you to my clients. I love you! Thank you to those that read my posts, even if you’ve never purchased one Beautycounter product. Thank you for sticking around and learning something about Safer, cleaner living. I hope you find this group to be a good resource.
In 20 years I hope to still be working with women, helping make each one feel the best in their skin while simultaneously making good choices when it comes to toxic load/exposure in the home! xo
