Lino needs new glasses (a long story he has lost all of them...). I feel that out of all his past eyeglasses, this shape is good on him and this color... but they are out of stock...I definitely don't like small glasses on kids, they look like a prescription, like a medicine that needs a recipe! . And yes, it is a real deal at this home, being the son of a photographer glasses need to look good not only on you but in photos... . It is possible to avoid reflections, you can use a filter in your lens (which I don't have for all of them), and photograph on 45 degrees, but with a kid, you are looking for another thing and that is not the best angle... so, getting glasses antireflective is helpful... . What color do you think work on him? I feel like black or browns aren't fun for a pre-teen, blue is too classic "boy blue", red and orange aren't good on photos, some greens produce a green overcast on the skin (but his first ones were mated and green from See and I loved, not in the budget anymore for a kid)... Then I have found clear, but usually, the one found are very big shapes for him... Well, it looks like I am overwhelmed about ... 🤷🏽‍♀️ . I have never needed glasses (until now that will need to start looking for), but I got an expert looking on them online... What else do you do for your kids? . BTW. This photo was taken in one of the locations I have available for mini sessions. Check fall mini sessions availability in profile. . . . #glassesfirKids #LifestyleByLorena #lifestylePhotograoher

The light today is very red... unfortunately it is because all the fires here in California. I am working from my home-studio in Pjs and I love to see my little cozy corner when I go for another coffee... Don’t get afraid of using lines to compose... it makes harmony instead how many people think that can be cold and uncozy.... mix textures and colors but when you do it, be structured with the lines. I also prefer photos in a grid, it creates order, but there isn’t always the rule... don’t put frames too separate from each other to make connections you don’t need to go probably more than the 10% of the wide of the frame. If you could see my whole space you would notice this is almost my whole home, lol... so, everything is possible and I have lived in huge homes before... . . . #LifestylePhotographer #interiorstyling #LifestyleByLorena

This was my view this morning while eating a keto waffle made on my new heart waffle maker thanks to @holsteinkitchen . I love my quiet mornings, the peace that light brings into my table. . ◼︎What camera do I use? Canon Mark IV. ◼︎Why do I use canon? When moved to San Francisco before Lino was born I had a sony alpha that I used in auto with a 70-300mm, but it was stolen with all my other compact cameras one day that our home was broken right after my divorce. My life without taking photos (or with the first iPhone) was incomplete. I needed a DSRL (digital single-lens reflex), my budget was restricted and on my intense research at that time Nikon and Canon were the most popular for digital "big" cameras...My best camera when I was an architect student 20 years ago had been a canon too AE1. So, I narrowed it to canon and what I could afford was a canon t3i. For some reasons, I wanted a camera and wanted to go back to school to take some architecture classes but I found myself taking a photography course and fell ( I mean, fell in Love) at the point of crying on that first class (I can do a post about it in another moment). Then I fell in love with canon. I think Sony, Nikon, and Canon are excellent. But when you start with a system it is difficult to change to another because all the investments you do in one aren't compatible in between. One year later I needed a full frame camera, so I bought an almost new 5D Mark II which has been my camera for all the commercial shoots and is still with me as a backup ◼︎Have I ever used other brands? I haven't had any problem with canon and I guess I am a canon girl, but yes I had used especially lenses from other brands and yes, I still prefer my canon lenses. ◼︎What do people say? My Nikon friends love that is usually lighter and focus was supposed better on Nikon. I think it depends on the model. The mark iv is excellent with focus. The canon mark II wasn't great with focus but I learned to use it and did great. Sony is wonderful, but if I would need to use Sony now, I would have to buy all my glasses and flashes etc... My videographer friends are using sony with canon lenses with an adaptor. I hear most videographers prefer Sony. ◼︎How many cameras do I use during a photo shoot? I keep my backup camera in the bag, but I don't like to wear two cameras, even I don't use a camera strap, ↠↠↠↠↠

The connection with our mom is a unique piece of art that is gifted to us when we are born. How beautiful is this frame? I am glad I had the time to enjoy my niece and my sister-in-law in a Florida sunset. If you are a beach person like me, we have some openings for our 2018 Fall Mini-Sessions on Dillon Beach. The link to book a photo session on the beach is in the profile. or what do you prefer? are you a city person, or a natural park soul? . . 📸: @bylorenaphotography . #LifestylePhotographer #ArtDirectorAndLifestyle #commercialLifestyle #FamilyPhotoSession

I don't know if that is me, but time flies! I feel as if this year had two months and are gone! who else? I have hundreds... I mean, hundreds of photos that are still waiting to be named, culled and organized into smaller collections... and when opening my Lightroom this type of photos appear, I get distracted trying to culling it even when it wasn't the priority today, well, then I tell myself "select one randomly and be happy, post it in IG and go back to the collection you need to deliver, you can name them tomorrow". I use Lightroom as my main software to organize, name and edit the photos, then I open photoshop for almost every photo I want to print and for 100% of the photos I sell in stock because I need to remove all the trademarks! I have an external hard drive per year and I name the hard drive... My current hard drives are a "big boy", "little boy" and "white girl"... The first one is huge in size, the second one looks like the little brother and the thirst one is a white color, shiny and small... I name my folders as YYYMMDD_description... Then once I reject photos and flag others to make a selection; I will name them as secuency#_description_YYYYMMDD. I think it is better if a make a graphic about one day Let me know if you would like to know how is my workflow... it has taken years to decide this way and I love to share for you to save time! By the way, I don't know why I am talking about it... When I may tell you that I have included Shollenberger park on the locations I am offering the fall mini-sessions. This photo of Lino was taken there and I love love love this park for photos... it has beautiful neutral colors, it is easy to walk, it is flat... who else don't like perfect parks with green grass? Me! Mini-sessions are 35 minutes and are available on November mainly, you have the option or beach, urban and natural park and the link is in profile! She loves cameras, and photograph and art. She has grown in San Francisco and has been stimulated for all the creativity surrounded by the city. Senior pictures are for that, for showing your unique young personality and the space where you are part of. We are in Orlando right now enjoying family, a little break and working part-time; but we will be back in San Francisco and Petaluma in a couple of weeks and we are already working on opening our schedule for mini-sessions during the whole month of November because we know you want an update of your pics as is your tradition for the Holidays cards. These special sessions happen only in November. Link to book will be available very soon. . . . #SanFranciscoSeniorPortraits #PhotographerofLife #SanFranciscoLifestylePhotographer #SanFrancisco

This session was for celebrating her HS graduation... Her mom, my dear friend also was with us during the photo shoot and this happened... I captured this moment that speaks so much about them... The Mission, which was one of the neighborhoods she wanted on her photos because it is full of color, diversity and street art. While culling the photos I stopped on this and smiled, then I sent it out her mom immediately... I am sure, this will be a souvenir to keep on their hearts for many years. . . . #SeniorPictures ◼︎Photo: @bylorenaphotography . #seniorPicture #LifestylePhotographer. #OrlandoPhotographer #SanFranciscoLifestyle
