Transport Burma style. What a country this is. Full of friendly, welcoming people who are not just out to make a fast buck. My hat ‘flew off’ on the road today and the Burmese guy who picked it up and brought it to me REFUSED a tip. He was just happy to do something for a fellow human. We can learn a lot from these people who, relative to us, have so very little. #oxcart#burma#myanmar#compassion#help#humanity
Five days into my Spanish sojourn searching for the meaning of life I can confirm that it is not, as some people helpfully suggested, 42. But I think that I am now getting close to cracking it. We should TRY each day to leave that part of the world over which we have influence: (our immediate environment, neighbourhood, and the people we come in contact with); in a better state as a result of our care and kindness. While at the same time having the courage to expose hypocrisy, prejudice, cruelty and corruption. Most of us aren’t perfect enough to do that continuously, but if we can achieve it for at least some of the time then our lives will have meaning. It really is as simple and achievable as that.
So, now that that’s sorted, I have more than a week left in the sun in which to just kick back and relax. Cheers, 🍺 😊. #Spain#españa#velezblanco#andalucía#mountains#meaningoflife#happiness#environment#kindness
