I love this photo by my one of my wonderful Seattle stockists, @thestandardgoods! They have two locations. One in Capitol Hill and a new location in Redmond. I love shops like theirs. Ones where when you walk in you can find so discover so many new things, beautiful items and thoughtful gifts. You can find my full list of stockists at hemleva.com/stockists πŸ’šπŸƒ #hemleva

Can I just say right now how much I love Vietnamese food? I grew up around Chicago where Italian, Polish, Korean, Indian, Pakistani, BBQ and Chinese restaurants are all seriously top notch. (If you ever need a recommendation, lmk!) But it wasn't until we moved to Seattle that I began to genuinely learn about Vietnamese food. The importance of simple ingredients prepared well, fish sauce, nuoc cham, and of course fresh herbs like Basil. What's your favorite Vietnamese dish? A few of my favorites include Pho, Bun bo Nam bo, Banh Beo Hue, Banh Mis, Goi cuon, Banh xeo. πŸ’šπŸƒ #hemleva #basil #herbs

I love weekends like these. Slow meals with friends, new crafts, laughs, trying new recipes (cinnamon rolls are proofing as I write this), and exploring Washington with Andy as we prepare for our move. I hope your weekend was restorative. And don't forget! Tonight is the last day for my seconds sale at hemleva.com πŸƒπŸ’š #hemleva #olive #olivebranch #olives

A few of my favorite things. Pins. Plants. Plant-inspired pins. Has anyone else watched the Marie Kondo show on Netflix? I definitely watched it all in 3 days. Since our move to Arizona is coming up in a few months we've had extra incentive to organize, purge, and donate. And along the way we have been reconnecting with things that make us happy. My pin collection is one of my favorite things. Pins that I've designed, pins that I've traded with other artists, pins that I purchased from my travels. Each and every one brings me so much joy. πŸƒπŸ’š #hemleva #sparkjoy

It's time for a story and a contest. In the past week I've fulfilled about a dozen wholesale orders for my stockists. I took this photo last night when I was finishing up an order, and today when I went to edit it and post it, I had to do a few double takes. Something was off about the Eucalyptus pin in the middle. I compared it to another pin, and right after I realized that it's packed up and already out the door, it finally hit me. Do you see what's "wrong"? I mean, it still looks very pretty imo. And that leads me to a fun little contest. CONTEST β€’ If you find this exact pin at one of my stockists with this Limited Edition Variation, purchase it, take a photo of it with your receipt and email me and I'll send you a free pin and a few more fun things, just because. You can find all of my very beautiful, but normal Eucalyptus Pins and more at hemleva.com and you can find a list of all 300+ of my stockists (retail shops that carry HEMLEVA items) at hemleva.com/stockists Seriously though, what are the odds that this would be the pin that I happened to place on top? And that it that would have this variation?! And yes, I immediately thought of Willy Wonka's "Golden Ticket" song. πŸŽ«βœ¨πŸ’–πŸŽ‰ #hemleva #eucalyptus #seededeucalyptus

The Monstera Adansonii 'archipelago' keychain. Don't tell the others, but she's totally my favorite right now. I love the weight of this keychain, the variegated colors, and the bright Gold finish that makes the leaf fenestrations (aka leaf holes) pop! Dress up your keychain, make your work keys more fun, and your spare keys easier to find. You can find this pretty keychain and more at hemleva.com πŸ’šπŸƒ #hemleva Totally off topic, but I'm planning a crafting night with a few friends this weekend. I'm hoping this will be a regular thing, a new way to take time away from work, a creative form of self care, and a way to be more present with friends. Would you happen to have any suggestions on what we should do, make, work on? I'm totally open, and definitely very happily dragged out all of my craft/art supplies yesterday.

The very first four pins that I ever designed way back in 2015. I'm looking back at all of my pins and through my sketchbooks as I start on my 2019 collection. It's going to be something new, something I am so so very excited about. You can find these four OG pins and more at hemleva.com. You can purchase then individually or as a discounted set of four. Tap the photo for a few quicklinks. πŸ’šπŸƒ #hemleva #thefutureisbright #plantsmakepeoplehappy #plantlady

I was listening to a podcast this morning, and they were taking about how there are going to be 6 eclipses this year. The first of which will be the Super Blood Wolf Moon on January 20th. When I first heard about this, my immediate question was, have there always been this many events? And since I did not study Astronomy, my answer is - maybe? It will be the last opportunity to see a total lunar eclipse until 2021. The other day someone had asked me "why do people collect pins?" And I responded, and many of you did too. The reasons why you collect pins warmed my heart. One of the loveliest reasons that I read was because they may remind you of a certain time, place, event or experience. Coincidentally, that's also one of the reasons why I designed several of my pins - because they remind me of moments in time. I had designed my Starry Night pin after I had spent the night under the stars with a few of my friends. We drove out to where the brightness of the city lights quieted, and we stayed out there in the freezing night, to watch a meteor shower. There were hundreds of us out on the mountainside that night, yet with the darkness of the night and the awesome sight playing out above us we all sat so perfectly still - quietly watching the scene unfold. Will you be wearing your Starry Night pin on January 20th? I know I will. I also love the idea of gifting this pin to Astronomers and star gazers.
