@love.errs 😊 Who/What inspires your photography? Where I live is my biggest inspiration for so many reasons; my love of nature, animals and plants, all these things are encapsulated in the landscape here. The island is even dearer to me as it's where I grew up and holds so many memories. My mum (who passed away when I was 13) used to photograph her friends with her film camera around the island and my dad too. Their photos continue to inspire me. And then there are of course other artists that inspire me, photographers, painters, writers, film directors; they help me to understand art and remind me to strive for integrity in my work - William Blake, Terence Malick, Luigi Ghuirri and Sigrid Undset to name a few 😊 Be sure to check out the full interview on our website ☺️ #hippomag 🌴

@love.errs 😊 Do you have a favourite photography related memory, whether it be in front or behind the camera? So many! Whenever I head out with my camera to shoot it's always an experience. Robert Adams once said 'no place is boring if you've had a good night's sleep and have a pocket full of unexposed film.' And I totally agree. There's always something to see, something to feel, whether you capture it on film or not. One memory I will treasure is from a recent trip to Crete. We got lost on a mountain high up on an old alpine track. I got out the car and was hit by the most amazing smell- On the side of the road were herds of mountain goats eating wild herbs like oregano and thyme. That hot, fragrant breeze and the wildness of the goats so high will stay with me forever 😊 Be sure to check out the full interview on our website ☺️ #hippomag 🌴

@love.errs 😊 How would you describe your style of photography? I shoot a lot of nature, portraits, the sea, the moon, flowers. I am fascinated by the cosmos, its influence on our energies, and places that resonate spiritually with me, so these themes are present in my work. I love the human form and in particular the feminine shapes. I do a lot of self-portraits, as a means of self-expression but also as a way of capturing archetypes 😊 Be sure to check out the full interview on our website ☺️ #hippomag 🌴

@jakepearsscown 😊 Are there any tips you would like to give to anyone out there who would love to create similar style photos to yours? Just get out and shoot as much as you can, until you fill your memory card! No matter what it is. Whatever you see and whatever you like the look of, take a photo! The great thing with technology in cameras and computing these days is that we can choose what we want to keep or delete at the end. There’s a lot to learn from picking up your camera and forcing yourself to photograph anything. This is something I push myself to do most days 😊 Be sure to check out the full interview on our website ☺️ #hippomag 🌊

@jakepearsscown 😊 Who/What inspires your photography? Using Instagram and looking through peoples blogs is a great way for me to get inspired before heading out the door at the beginning of any day. Seeing what others like to capture and what they see in their surroundings. But whenever I have my camera on my side or in my hand, I like to slow down and really concentrate on what and who is around me. Notice the small things, the details, and watch what people do 😊 #hippomag 🌊

@jakepearsscown 😊 How would you describe your style of photography? That’s a tough one! There are so many different areas of photography I enjoy, like architecture and interior design, people, landscape, and food and drink. I tend to approach each of these fields fairly similarly. Generally looking for symmetry, clean backgrounds, great light, those sort of things. But I really enjoy just documenting stuff through photography. Capturing people doing their thing. Noticing different textures inside and out. Being outdoors far from home 😊 #hippomag 🌊

@p_hather_ 😊 Are there any tips you would like to give to anyone out there who would love to create similar style photos to yours? Keep a camera within easy reach at all times, a lot of my favourite photos have been created spontaneously. Explore new places as much as possible, even if that's just getting a bus to a different part of your city and wandering 😊 Be sure to check out the full interview on our website ☺️ #hippomag 🌊

@p_hather_ 😊 Which time of year is your favourite for taking photographs? Mid Summer, in the late afternoon or early evening, when the light is just right and everything looks beautiful. I feel particularly motivated to go out and take photographs at this time of year - it can be difficult in the UK when we get long periods of grey, rainy weather 😊 Be sure to check out the full interview on our website ☺️ #hippomag 🌊

@p_hather_ 😊 What would be your number one dream destination for a photography adventure? By the time this goes up I'll be in the middle of a six month trip through India, Sri Lanka and Thailand. My time will be divided between busy cities and tropical beaches - two of my favourite places to photograph. I also love documenting places much closer to home and spend a lot of time photographing Bristol and towns around South West England 😊 Be sure to check out the full interview on our website ☺️ #hippomag 🌊

@p_hather_ 😊 Would you mind introducing yourself? Hello, my name's Phil and I'm a 26-year-old photographer from South West England. I grew up in Somerset but I've been living in Bristol for the past few years - I think Bristol is one of the best cities in the world. I graduated with a degree in Photography a few years ago, since then I've been working to fund various travelling trips and shooting as many rolls of film as possible 😊 Be sure to check out the full interview on our website ☺️ #hippomag 🌊
