LOCATION: Kvaløya, Norway
I was asked for some facts about my city Tromsø from @brotherside Two brothers (Boris and Sandro), from Hamburg, Germany living in Trondheim having a hard time with expensive beer 🍻 . If you don’t know them; check their gallery. It’s truly amazing 🔥 you want regret it. For those of you who don’t know it; I am from the city, but moved out to the village I live in for over 30 years ago and have never regretted it. It’s just 20 minuets with car to the city center.
FACTS ABOUT TROMSØ:
We have above 75.000 inhabitants
Including Norwegians we have 136 different nationalities living here. Tromsø is a Universitetet city. We have the 3rd largest university in Norway, and world northernmost.
It’s 15.500 students and 3.300 employees. It’s also the biggest research and education institution in Northern Norway. We also have the University hospital with about 6.600 employees. The university and the hospital are in a close relationship due to research. Our hospital is also one of the best (if not the best) in Norway in hart diseases and heart transplantation. Tromsø is also known as the gate to the Arctic Ocean, because it’s the largest community before the vessels leave Norway on their way to the Arctic Ocean. Tromsø is also known as “Nordens Paris” (Northern Paris). This goes back to 1800 century when travelers arrived Tromsø they was surprised over the highly educated people and their dresses. Also the economy in Northern Norway was transported through Tromsø. Bjørnstjerne Bjørnson wrote to his wife when he was visiting Tromsø «Here is just champagne and riot 😆 Tromsø is today known for it’s vivid nightlife. It’s a popular place to go to for seminars 😉 Now @brotherside this was a lot of facts so I stop here. But one thing; the beer 🍺 is expensive here to. That’s maby the reason why people goes out to the bars and discos around midnight after having some drinks 🍹 at home. And “the last man standing” around 04-05 in the morning 🤣
Happy Friday, have a fabulous weekend . Cheers 🥂 😆💫🎉💫
