These rainy June-uary days in the PNW feel a bit strange, but I’m embracing the cool weather before we kick it into high (heat) gear soon. How are you dealing with the rain? . On a different note - I’ve got a house show coming up in NE Portland this Friday, 6/15, as well as some new songs to share. The other songwriters are all wonderful - so come out. It’ll be the kick off to an awful busy summer. Also - it’s been a good while since I’ve played a house show, so I am really looking forward to sharing that kind of intimate space with the other songwriters and all who attend. Event info in story. See you there. ❤️ . 7:30PM Friday, 6/15. 3436 N Gatenbein Ave . Oh, AND next week I’m at @oldchurchpdx with @itskingsleymus for her album release - 6/23. Exciting, come celebrate! 🎊 . . . 📸 @aj_molle (miss you)

It’s been just a handful of months since I released my EP, “Lifted.” Have you heard it? . Writing and recording it was a learning experience for me. I took the project on shortly after my old band, Jacob Miller and the Bridge City Crooners disbanded last year, as I wanted to put out some of the “solo” songs I had written. . My thought was that the songs would serve as an introduction to my new music - a substantial shift from the swing and throwback style of JM&BCC. And to be honest, it was a make-it-up-as-you-go type situation. I had general ideas, but nothing concrete. Flash forward to trying new techniques, new instruments, new sound scapes, etc. I learned more about the songs themselves, and they type of artist I wanted to grow into. . The difference between the Crooners music and what I’m doing now also feels substantially different. The BCC will forever take place as some of the best years of my life - performing, recording and traveling with my best buds. But, the music I am writing now feels sincere, and real in a way I haven’t been able to present in my past musical vehicles. The movements, melodic choices, and subject matter all feel close to me - an extension of what I am going through while writing and playing. There’s something seemingly personal, or maybe just more exposing to it all. . Either way - it brings me great joy to continue writing, and sharing my personal experiences in hopes they can positively effect listeners. I have been hard at work recording a full length record to be released later this year. It has been a long time coming, and I am real fucking excited to share the songs with you and folks all over. The songs are hard, honest and heartfelt. The style, writing and intention has evolved since the EP’s release - but for the time being, click the link in my BIO - and check out my baby son, “Lifted.” . I encourage you to follow my @spotify page, and download it for some free streaming. Thank you for reading, and have a beautiful day. . . 📷 @aj_molle

Here today with a new song and video! I’m pleased to share this simple little video I shot with good friend @johnnydriver a few months back in inner SE Portland. . This song is about facing and accepting hard truths - and allowing yourself the space and ability to move forward. Writing it was very helpful to me. . Now, from my little understanding of youth culture - it seems Facebook is obsolete. Regardless, I thought I’d throw the full video on there. If you haven’t liked or followed my FB Page - click the link in my bio to watch the full video. Have a great day. 💫 . . . 📽 @johnnydriver
