Long sappy post because where did my little brother go? I used to push you around in a stroller and people would think you were my baby doll. We used to wrestle and play games together. Now you’re 18, about to graduate high school, and then you’re off to college. I am so proud of you and I know you’ll succeed in anything you do. Oh memories, thank you for always reminding me of how far I’ve come. So here’s another transformation post. Left is Thanksgiving 2015 unhealthy, and about to enjoy all the food and the right is Thanksgiving 2018 healthy, and enjoying just as much food. I will forever be grateful for deciding to make a lifestyle change in January of 2016. Just a little over a month after the picture on the right. I’ve had ups and I’ve had downs during this journey, but I’m always reminded that those downs don’t control me anymore. I’ve come so far, not only physically, but mentally. I’ve learned to listen to my body instead of restrict it or overdue my workouts, I’ve learned that eating more does not make you gain weight and neither do carbs, and I’ve learned that you are the only person standing in the way of your goals. Happy Flex Friday! Today’s back day and cardio felt so good. It was a much needed night at the gym. Next step is to get back to my morning fasted cardio after skipping for the last couple of weeks. We came, we dressed up, we ate, and we had lots of laughs. Ghouls night was a success and I definitely over indulged in all the foods and candy. That’s okay though because guess what, I woke up this morning, did fasted cardio, got back on track with my meals, and already lifted for the day. Cheat meals, or even cheat days occasionally will not throw off your goals. You never truly realize how far you’ve come until you compare pictures side by side. I can not explain how much confidence this gives me. Some days I wake up and I don’t feel as lean and on those days I honestly feel like I’ve made backwards progress. This transformation reminds me that I’m still moving forward. I’ve been on this journey for almost three years now and I’ve had lots of ups and downs since starting. I’ve made it a lifestyle but that doesn’t make me perfect. Some days lifting is hard, others the mind-muscle connection is amazing! Yesterday’s back lift was amazing. I felt strong, I felt the muscle contract on every rep, and today I am pretty sore. Consistency is key! I’m not perfect but since I’ve been eating better, adding cardio, and lifting heavier I am seeing better results than I ever have. I’ve been on this journey now for three years and this is the best I’ve felt the entire time. I did a heavy chest day today and even with adding extra weight to all of my lifts it felt easy.
