Aussie desserts never disappoint me! 🙌 I got this ricotta cheesecake with fresh figs from @modekitchenandbar at @fssydney - and I totally cleaned the plate. The name of the game is balance - neither of the sweetness of the cake itself and the acidity of the fig were too overpowering, and they definitely compliment each other so well. The subtlety of the ricotta cheese was just... ooft. This is why I would always pay for a nice dessert.
It’s Saturday #brunch time! Apart from Asian food, I really enjoy an Aussie brunch during the weekend. I went to @theaviarycoffeehouse with my mate and we had beetroot cured salmon with scrambled egg. I enjoyed that subtle sweetness of the beetroot in the salmon and the runny scrambled egg. It goes really well with the freshly baked sourdough which was crunchy and gave a bit of acidity to the whole dish. And use that lemon juice to balance off the flavours from the salmon! ☺️
Smashed it (as usual). I caught up with my mum at @yayoiaustralia at @westfieldsyd for some Japanese food. This is the pork tonkatsu with miso sauce - the deep-fried crust was crunchy yet the meat remained very tender. Topped that off with the miso sauce that gave some really strong flavours to the whole meal set. Remember to add pickles to your order as they give that off for free too! Definitely check this restaurant out guys ☺️
It’s another #AfterWorkSydneyEats time! Today I went for something quick, so I went to this food court @ Market City Haymarket at this food store called Super Chef BBQ - they specialised in Hong Kong food.
What I had was egg noodles with BBQ Pork (Cha Shiu) and wontons, it really reminded me of home. The pork is so succulent and the egg noodles are cooked al dente. The wonton dough was silky smooth, although they used frozen prawns so the flavours aren’t too strong. Overall a great meal, so make sure to stay tuned for my #YouTube video! 🇭🇰
I think if my parents saw this, they would be so proud as they kept nagging me to eat fish every week.
Here I’m for some Thursday feeds, I went to At Thai Cuisine @ Sydney Chinatown for some steamed fish with Thai Chilli Jam Sauce and rice, and all this for only $12.5! I will say definitely split this with a friend if you are not a big eater like me, you got a whole fish actually!! 🐟🐟 #afterworksydneyeats
Inspired by “Let’s Eat”, I will start posting photos of the food that I’ve finished - this means I really enjoyed the food that I had to smash it all haha.
I ordered the Malaysian red chicken curry and teh terik. The chicken was so tender coupled with the strong coconut milk flavours of the rice, it was the perfect combo alongside with the silky smooth teh terik! Ho Jiak!
Definitely more photos of these to come. Stay tuned for my video on YouTube this week ☺️ #AfterWorkSydneyEats
