This divine concoction has been lifting my game each morning, and I've badly needed it due to a certain small cat thundering through my nights: it's @theglowingfridge's superfood coffee elixir, and it's full of amazing goodness: coffee, cacao, maca, cinnamon, turmeric, cayenne, and coconut oil. As a longtime straight-up black coffee drinker I leave out the sweetener. Give it a try! Here's her recipe (thank you @theglowingfridge!) .⠀ 1 cup fresh, hot coffee 1 tbsp coconut oil 1 tablespoon raw cacao powder⠀ 1 teaspoon raw maca powder⠀ 1/4 teaspoon ground turmeric⠀ 1/4 teaspoon ground cinnamon⠀ 1/8 teaspoon ground ginger⠀ pinch of black pepper⠀ pinch of cayenne pepper (optional!)⠀ .⠀ I mix the dry ingredients in a mug, add the oil then pour in about 1/4-1/3 of the coffee. I give that a whiz with my stick blender, before adding the rest of the coffee and stirring. This is to avoid blending hot liquids in my blender cup, which is plastic. I've been looking after some friends' cat this week (whole 'nother story), and for convenience in a new kitchen, I've more or less eaten the exact same meal every night! Day 7, now we're getting somewhere! I'm happy to report that I made it to #parkrun yesterday, setting my intention for the year to reach (and surpass) the 50 milestone - currently at 33. ⠀ .⠀ Some of my favourite things on this plate: broccoli steam-sautéed with pepitas and @nomnompaleo's magic mushroom seasoning plus home-made daikon kimchi (kkakdugi).
