in many cultures in history there has been a divine position in society for trans/nonbinary people. let us honor them for their magic, fire, and bravery today, and if you are cis please stand up and fight for their rights in any way you can. . . . @jonahwelch is the artist

CULTIVATING CLOSURE is printed and ready to enjoy! i'll list it in my shop when i get home to kc. so happy to have finished this project, and so thankful for my residency here @thefuturempls for offering me the space and time to do it.

today i'll be touching and playing with a risograph machine for the first time, printing the covers for my zine, CULTUVATING CLOSURE. tonight from 7-9 i'll be releasing it at @thefuturempls , and giving a workshop where we can all create our own recipe for a ritual that can help bring closure to a personal change or trauma. the tone will be lighthearted and casual, if you know people here in minneapolis please tag them or share this! thank you πŸ“πŸ“πŸ“πŸ“

at the tail-end of mental health awareness day, i would like to check in to share that like so many of us, i struggle with anxiety and what i believe to be ptsd. i think it is important to be transparent about this because i am a person people turn to for advice regarding their wellness, and i want you all to know that most medicine people/doctors/doulas/therapists etc are dealing with issues of our own. which is to say that we are all human and no person should be placed on a pedestal because they have knowledge or medicine others need. we are all struggling together, and it is my desire to do my part in holding each other up. sending so much love out there to folks who are really going through it right now, you are so important and beautiful. i'm proud we survived today, and i think we can all do it again tomorrow. πŸ’œπŸ’œπŸ’œ

this mugwort was grown on a misty mountain in california, in a secret place, where i tinctured it fresh. i like to work with mugwort to bring more vivid and memorable dreams, a small squirt on the tongue as a part of my bedtime ritual. what's your relationship with this plant look like?

2

can we talk about megan? we are housemates, studiomates, and smoothie-mates, and she is a bad bitch. thanks so much for supporting me and having 2 person group therapy in studio with me, may our neighbors treasure forever our constant cackling and misandry! see her at her show tonight at @leedyvoulkosartcenter

gonna fix my van, gonna bleed into the fall garden, gonna drink elderberry soda and passionflower tea, gonna slaughter chickens and make broth. gonna paint and cry and make a promise to play myself music, gonna love my friends so so so very much 'cause nothing lasts forever.

breaking ancestral bounds of attachment... my mom struggles with hoarding. her mother never threw anything potentially useful away, left price tags on the bottoms of things we used (to remind herself of what they cost?). i am trying to learn new behaviors, trying not to be a little dragon protecting my cave full of (thrift store) treasure. giving things away is feeling GREAT, and i am also selling some things (to fund a new pair of boots that help me work with chronic pain, and to put away for a still-secret project). visit my "garage sale" in the featured stories on my profile, new things daily and all prices negotiable. thank you for hearing me, and providing a virtual reality cushion of support for a sometimes lonesome cowgirl. πŸ’œ

can't belive it is already almost time! in a week from tomorrow i leave for my residency at @thefuturempls where i will create my new zine on closure rituals. so very excited for the opportunity, and during the perfect season for the project. i'll be travelling under the new moon, a good time to meditate on what to write, and then begin making as the moon begins to wax!

MUSHROOM PEOPLE! is this reishi? the bottom spore surface bruised, and the reddish parts are varnish-shiny.

the BLOOD MOON calendars began as a way for menstruating people to chart their bleeding while comparing it to the moon's phases. nowadays i emphasize this role less, in part to allow more freedom and creativity in how folx might choose to use them. other ways might include marking days of explosive, boundless energy in one color, and days where we NEED rest and quiet in another. i still track my bleeding on them, and in recent years started using the blood itself to do so. (pictured here is this year's lunarium. 2019 calendars are still available, as are a handful of 2018s)

hello, happy full harvest moon, happy bisexual visibility day, and happy belated autumnal equinox! sending all sorts of love out from my queer heart, from the garden dirt under my fingernails, and from the middle of kansas city where it is summery in the afternoon and just a bit crisp at night. 🌻🌻🌻

🌝proudly presenting🌚 my sweet pet project, the BLOOD MOON calendars, now several years strong, is glowing and right off the presses for 2019! my most effort-filled and intention infused lunarium, it is beautifully risograph printed by my dear @kendolph and @oddities_prints and designed to echo the moon tarot card. this card encourages us to work with intuition and dreams to find what's hidden. we can use our calendars to find our hidden connections to the luna's shifts and to the earth itself, how our blood is ocean water pulled by the full moon. $12 plus shipping, a dollar of support for each of next year's months. please DM if you would like one sent!
