la mitad de gringolandia es terreno mexicano - residente, calle 13 Trump came to the valley & I didn’t think I was going to be able to make it to today’s protest due to a Drs appointment, but I made it, sorta... had to be in my car for majority of the time cause my wheelchair ran out of battery, pero I was blown away by how many ppl showed up. There we’re a lot of trump supporters, many who had el nopal en la frente, but we outnumbered them 😤✊🏼 today showed me that we have many ppl in our side, & we just gotta continue fighting this crooked system till we finally see change,, there still lots of work to be done, but we can do it

[turn on volume] 49 years ago, December 4, 1969, the Chicago Police department & the FBI assassinated 21 year old Fred Hampton, a true hero who fought for freedom, a revolutionary communist leader & Deputy Chairman of the Black Panther Party. He was laying down sleeping next to his 9 month old pregnant fiancé, Deborah Johnson, when they fired two shots to his head (he was also intentionally drugged by an undercover police) he wasn’t the only One that was murdered that day, Mark Clark, a 22 year old, was killed & four other Panthers were wounded as the police opened fire. They were dragged into the street and arrested for “assault & attempt murder” of the officers. - Fred Hampton was a revolutionary fighting for liberation of oppressed people. - People tell me that now we are free to talk about anything we want but that’s not true, if you say anything that’s against this capitalist racist system we are silenced & told we don’t know anything. Fred Hampton is one person who I’ve learned a lot from & he is one of the people who inspire me to speak up. ✊🏼 (His home is being used as a base for community programs, events, & a museum of Fred’s life as a black panther, & his son and widow are fighting to save his home. Look up the Hampton House gofundme & website on google to donate.)

[part 1] So yesterday, December 3rd, was International Day of People with Disabilities, & I wanted to ask y’all some questions. - How many of you guys know someone who is disabled/has seen someone in public or in movies/tv who’s disabled?whether it’s a friend, family member, Professor/teacher, colleagues, model, actor/actress, singer, etc... - Do you see them in your favorite places? whether it be in an amusement park, restaurant, concert/local events, marches or social Justice Rallies, protest, & movies etc etc. - If you haven’t, I want you guys to stop and think for a min as to why you haven’t met or seen disabled folks in a public space & what we can do to fix this. - I’ve talked many times about how there are some places where I can’t go to because it isn’t accessible for my chair, or when I go watch a movie about a “person that’s disabled” and the person that’s playing this role is an able bodied person & the movie basically being made for able bodied ppl. - when you guys talk about equality & representation, remember about the lack of equality and representation that there is for disabled folks, include us, & help us. When you go to your favorite restaurant and you see it’s not accessible in any way, speak up. If you are a director and want to make a movie about someone with a disability, get an actor/actress with the disability, or at least have them with you while writing the movie. Stop making these movies for able bodied people and make them for the disabled community. I’m tired of the same story, I’m tired of the pettiness, the whole “oh what am I complaining about, I’m healthy and your stuck in a chair.” Stop with the damn inspiration porn. (There’s a whole story on my iG page where I talk more about all of this, if you want to hear it, just go watch it) - Anyway all I want to say is that we’re here & we matter too. Accessibility should be there for us and we shouldn’t be worried if whether or not we’ll be able to move around in the space or even go into a place. And representation matters, and y’all need to quit with the inspiration porn. [also this is coming from a wheelchair user, everyone has different accessibility needs] #IDPWD
