🙌 #1000miles 🙌 Hit a BIG milestone last night! At 8:30pm, realized I was .8 of a mile from hitting 1k. So jumped off the couch & got out the door to walk around the block to make it happen. Some context: It’s 1000 total Fitbit miles, which incorporates exercise + everyday movement. In terms of walk/run/hike miles that I’ve done in 2018, that’s 483 miles. For comparison: At this time in 2017, I had logged 247 walk/run/hike miles. Also logged 13+ hours of elliptical in 2018. Since elliptical “distance” doesn’t equally equate with actual walking miles, I’m estimating 3 miles per hour, which adds another 39 exercise miles. 🍑 #legday 🍑 Ohhh. Emmm. Geee. Had some death by #pitagrace today. 😳 The last time I did this leg workout, I did two sets of the circuit. Because I’ve had several other leg days since then, thought I should do three circuits today. That was all fine...until I was down to the last two pairs of exercises & my legs were jello! I was panting like a puppy & the sweat was dripping! 💦 But I finished strong. Glad I had my chilly towel to provide a little relief. The 🍅 face says it all. #goodnewsbadnews ⛰ After acupuncture yesterday, I slept well & was excited to get back on mountain today. Out the door before 7am. Beautiful morning. And the north wind kept things relatively cool even with full sun. Didn’t want to over do it, so did an easy, slow 4 mile hike. A little discomfort with my feet, but not bad. Did good stretch pre-hike + 20 min post-hike stretch + 25 min ice to help mitigate any issues. That’s all the good news. The bad news: After sitting down for about an hour this afternoon, the plantar fasciitis fired right back up. All the feel good from yesterday is gone & I’m bummed once again with being sidelined. At this point, I guess my only workout options are weights and yoga; stay off my feet otherwise. Between the oppressive heat & my plantar fasciitis pain, I haven’t felt like working out much. And since running is my natural prozac, I’m in a real funk without it. But today’s acupuncture helped & my mental state is much improved. 🏞 #creekside 🏞 Finally got a break from the heat...and the gym! Yeah!!! Got outside with the hubby for a walk around Golden, much of which around Clear Creek. By the time we finished, the clouds had rolled in & it was cool. Glorious! But...the plantar fasciitis is still lingering, even with all the therapy, stretching, icing & switching to elliptical this week. Frustrating. 👟 #latergram 👟 As promised, been doing elliptical to get in my steps. No foot pain during workout. Still having some discomfort throughout the day, but it’s better. Started the 30 day #bodybullychallenge by @pita.grace yesterday as well. Workout called for four sets 😯, but I thought I should ease in with two sets. Totally the right move. 🌲 #nevermissamonday 🌲 Wishing I was on the trails today! But, alas, my plantar fasciitis isn’t getting significantly better. The new shoes, icing, foam rolling have helped. But I’m still having pain. I’ve read that elliptical isn’t as problematic since the foot is more stationary. So that’s my plan for getting in the miles this week. And since the forecast is 🔥Hot AF🔥, being in a cool gym isn’t exactly a bad thing. Guess my nature fix will have to be sitting under a tree & reading.
