Has anyone ever said to you before that you are “too sensitive”? Or you’re overreacting? - As someone who wears their emotions on their sleeve, I’ve been told on numerous occasions that I’m too sensitive or I tend to overthink things. One example is that I take criticism very poorly, especially if I feel like I did a good job to begin with. I’ve been working really diligently on some trade shows for our company, and it seems to me like all I’ve been receiving is feedback on what’s lacking instead of what’s going right. I tend to take this type of feedback personally, and sometimes I catch myself letting it hijack my emotions and response in either avoidance or frustration. - Being highly sensitive isn’t necessarily a bad thing. It means we’re more in tune with our emotions and the tone of others. It’s when we leave these emotions unchecked is when they start to spiral and for me cause anxiety. How are you responding to situations? Are you giving someone who wronged you power that they don’t deserve? A little trick or treat inspiration for your Monday scaries because I honestly can’t believe October will be here next week 🙈 - I absolutely loved trick or treating as a kid. The excitement of getting all dressed up, walking door to door and seeing what kind of candy you got was so exciting. I’d say my favorite was when I dressed up like Britney Spears (that was the thing that year 🤣) I can’t even say hi to a stranger now as an adult without getting some sort of anxiety 🤔 The closest thing to channeling my inner carefree child are these healthier Reese’s cup copycat version with cashew butter and I’m okay with that. - These cashew butter cups are easy to make, paleo-friendly, and require minimal ingredients to put together. Still trying to manifest some fall temps over here, even though I have no idea how a waffle is going to do that. - One thing that’s been on my mind lately, and I actually experienced this first hand just the other night, is how judgmental we can be with food. I went to a restaurant with my husband and ordered a sandwich lettuce wrapped. There was a couple sitting next to us, and the gentleman (mind you within an earshot of my husband and I) began bad mouthing people who eat lettuce wrapped anything. While I decided to just let it go, I want to encourage anyone out there who gets put down or judged because of the way you chose to live your life to not get discouraged. People will always have their opinions, and that’s their prerogative if they choose to try and make you feel less than ideal. As long as you are doing what works for you and your body, don’t worry about the opinions of others because that’s all it is, their opinions. Stay your course, and stay strong in whatever part of this health journey you’re in. I’m gonna serve up a little side of realness with these tacos tonight - I use food to deal with anxiety and stress (I also shop but that’s for another day 🤣) I have since I first started having panic attacks, and I notice I still do it to this day. - The difference today is I’m more mindful of when I’m overeating than I used to be. I notice when it’s happening. Do I stop it? Nah. It is what it is. But I notice that I’m trying to comfort my negative emotions with food. That just means to me to work more on some stress management techniques like tapping and meditation just a little bit more. The stress will never be in my control, but the way I cope with it can be. It’s been a minute since I’ve had a random hodge podge (I Googled that btw 🤣) of goods on a plate for a while, and with all the busyness going on these days I thought it was due time 😋 - When the going get busy, do you find yourself drifting toward fast and easy convenient food like I do? Like in the form of fast food or bags and bags of chips? I find it helpful to keep some roasted veggies and cooked protein on hand just in case I find myself overwhelmed and looking to bury my face in a box of cookies for lunch (while I’m totally not opposed to the occasional cookie dive, I tend to make that into a daily habit if I let it). I love when I get done after a long day at work and the hubs has dinner ready and waiting for me... oh wait... it was the crockpot that did that, definitely the crockpot (hubs helped, so a shout out is in order😜) - Even though it’s still 90 plus degrees outside, I’m trying to channel some major fall vibes over here with this warming beef stew with @bonafideprovisions beef bone broth and @primalpastures Beef stew cuts, as well as all the veggies we could fit in. What’s your favorite soup/stew you’re looking forward to bringing back this fall? - Start out by seasoning the steak with salt and pepper and sear it on each side 2-3 minutes. The stew includes one container of @bonafideprovisions beef broth, 2 cups of water, handful of pearl onions, 4 crushed and minced garlic, 2 rough chopped carrots 2 stocks of celery 2 handfuls (cups) mini red potatoes and some parsley and green onion for kicks. Of all the things I remember, this is one of those moments I remember quite vividly. It was the exact moment I could pinpoint when I found my why with my weight. - I remember standing on the scale in my bathroom at my parents house, the light from the sun almost highlighting the numbers for me to see clearly. Now I never wanted to be a supermodel, or reach some unobtainable standard of skinny. Never mind what the scale said, I was completely exhausted, struggled to get up stairs and was just overall worn down. My health wasn’t where I wanted it to be at all. I can pinpoint that exact moment when something inside me clicked, I found my why. I thought to myself I didn’t want to feel like this anymore. - Today on the blog, I’m diving into my struggle with emotional eating and weight gain, and what I did both for my body and mind to change it all around. What I discovered is that your weight isn’t just the food you eat, it’s so much more especially if you’re dealing with PCOS. Anyone else used to get down on Cinnamon Toast Crunch when they were younger like I did? 🙋🏼‍♀️ - I’m an absolute creature of habit when it comes to food addictions. Once I get hooked on to something, it’s hard for me to stop. That was definitely the case with breakfast cereals and especially Cinnamon Toast Crunch. While it was hard for me to stop eating an entire box a day, I did switch it out for the big kid version and I’d say it’s just as good. - I made these paleo cinnamon french toast with the paleo sweet potato bread I picked up yesterday at the farmers market in San Diego. I also used @vitalfarms organic eggs, @so_delicious unsweetened coconut milk and cinnamon for the coating. I let them cook on medium heat for a few minutes each, and topped it off with @co_yo_usa natural coconut yogurt, @traderjoes natural almond butter, blueberries and @primalpastures bee pollen. - Now I’m off to regular Sunday activities - I picked up some groceries yesterday while I was in San Diego so that helps cross one thing off the list. I’ve been on a major smoothie bowl kick as of late. 🥣 - If I could dive headfirst into this smoothie bowl I’d literally float all day on one of those crazy looking swan pool float things 🤩 since I forgot I have another appointment in San Diego today, that’ll have to wait. In all seriousness though, since I’ve been trying to ramp up my gut health, I find that smoothie bowls are the perfect way to not only take it easy on my gut, but they are also a good way to pack in a ton of gut loving nutrients as well. The collagen is also great for repairing the gut (and fancy hair and nails 💅🏻 but I’ll think about that later). Operation self care day concludes with a tray of paleo pumpkin muffins, and I’d say are the ideal situation 😋 - Has anyone else been feeling a little overwhelmed lately? Whether it be with work or school or just getting yourself out of bed in the morning? 🙋🏼‍♀️ I felt like I was in major need of a detox day today, and I spent most of the day doing things I enjoy, like sitting on the beach. While I wish it was my job to sit on the beach, I’ll take an hour when I can get it. I encourage anyone feeling overwhelmed or burnt out to take some time out and do something you enjoy, you won’t regret it ♥️ hey I have an idea where you can start - bake some paleo pumpkin muffins! - Paleo Pumpkin Muffins 1️⃣ 1 can organic pumpkin purée 2️⃣ 1/2 cup honey 3️⃣ 1/2 tsp vanilla 4️⃣ 2 eggs or flax eggs 5️⃣ 1 1/2 cups @traderjoes almond meal 6️⃣ 2 tbsp @primalpalate Pumpkin Pie Spice 7️⃣ 2 tsp cinnamon 8️⃣ 1/2 tsp sea salt 9️⃣ 1 tsp baking soda 🔟 1/4 cup melted then cooled coconut oil Pre heat the oven to 350 degrees and place cupcake liners in the cupcake pan. In a large bowl, mix together the pumpkin, eggs, honey and vanilla and blend. In a separate bowl, add together the remaining dry ingredients and combine well. Slowly mix the dry ingredients in with the wet ingredients and mix until fully combined. Fill up the cupcake liners halfway with batter. Place any desired toppings like chocolate or pumpkin seeds on top. Place in the oven and let cool for 30 minutes. Kennedy - Does anyone else feel like after meditating once they should automatically be calm af for the rest of time? Or is that just me? 🤣 - Finding inner peace is definitely a life long process. I’ll get to a point where I feel like I’m doing ok, so I start running on autopilot. That’s when I notice when life starts getting overwhelming again I start slipping out of that zone. - Self care, and inner peace, doesn’t have to be an expensive and super time consuming part of your day. I find myself getting caught up in wanting to do a million things and getting burnt out from forcing myself to do that on top of a million other things. Find one self care activity that brings you joy and stick with that. That way you’ll be more likely to stick with it, especially when the going gets rough. While I’d like to say I do yoga on the beach on the reg, that’s just not reality. Most of the time it’s me in my pajamas in the back office. Anyone else grow up on a steady diet of chicken fingers and Nickelodeon cartoons like I did? 🙋🏼‍♀️ Not gonna lie sometimes I like to enjoy a little blast from the past and watch my favorite shows from when I was a kid, and I don’t even have children 🤷‍♀️🤣 - I absolutely loved chicken fingers too because they were just so easy to pop in the oven, and my mom always served it up with the best secret sauce (unbeknownst to me it was actually just ketchup and mayo 🤣). Anyone else enjoy taco night as much as I do? 🙋🏼‍♀️ - These paleo stuffed peppers include pasture raised ground beef with taco seasoning and cauliflower rice, topped off with grape tomatoes and avocado. Start off by cooking the ground beef in a cast iron on the stove, while allowing the oven to pre heat to 375. Steam the cauliflower rice while your waiting as well. Combine the ground beef and cauliflower rice in the peppers and bake for 10 minutes 🥑

Studies show that there’s a strong correlation between women who are suffering from PCOS and the appearance of anxiety, depression and other mental health issues. Are you one of the many woman who deal with hormonal imbalances and anxiety but are only treated for one or the other? Or have you been told it’s “all in your head”? - I started having panic attacks shortly after I graduated high school at 18. I was placed on anxiety medication to control the anxiety, but I also still dealt with severe acne, thinning hair and weight gain. It wasn’t until I corrected the hormonal imbalance that the anxiety started to decrease. It still follows me around, I feel like it’s a shadow that will never leave my side. If I notice it there, that means something else is out of balance. - I share my story in hopes that those of you who are dealing with PCOS and anxiety or depression see that you are not alone. There’s nothing “wrong” with you, but there is something wrong with symptoms that are significant of a bigger issue being overlooked. Anyone else find baking a good way to decompress? 👩🏼‍🍳 - I find something so relaxing about getting creative in the kitchen and tossing something together.
