What happens when you try a different angle on the soups, and you get a sort of soup/mashed cauliflower sausage and sweet potato sort of number that works. - Cauliflower Sausage Sweet Potato Soup 1. 2 bags @traderjoes frozen cauliflower rice 2. 1/2 bag @bonafideprovisions chicken bone broth 3. 1 package @bilinskisausage spinach and fennel chicken sausage 4. 2 small sweet potatoes 5. Handful kale 6. 1 tbsp olive oil 7. Salt and pepper to taste Start out by pre heating the oven to 445. Dice up the sweet potato and season with salt, pepper and olive oil and toss on parchment paper lined cooking sheet for 20 minutes. In a large soup pan, place the cauliflower rice, olive oil, salt and pepper and cook covered on medium heat until tender. Place the cauliflower in a large blender with the bone broth and mix until well blended. Add the cauliflower mixture back into the soup pan. In a smaller saucepan, warm up the chicken sausage. Cut up the chicken sausage and place in the soup pan with remaining ingredients. Continue to cook on low to medium heat until bubbling. Looking for a little #whole30 game day inspiration? While I may not be a huge football fan, I am a huge fan of food - and these paleo air fryer buffalo drumsticks are something I can get behind. What’s your favorite game day snack? - Ingredients: • 1 package @primalpastures drumsticks • 2 tbsp @fourthandheart ghee • 1/4 cup @thenewprimal mild buffalo sauce • salt and pepper Season the drumsticks with salt and pepper. Place the drumsticks in the air fryer at 400 for 10 minutes, flipping over and continue to cook for an additional 5 minutes. Pre heat the oven to 350. On the stovetop in a medium saucepan, combine ghee and buffalo sauce until well combined. Mix the drumsticks with the sauce, and place on a wire rack in the oven for 10 minutes. Let sit before serving. Endlessly eating soup on repeat, especially on a rainy Saturday 🍜 - This paleo zoodle soup comes together in no time, and features minimal ingredients perfect for #whole30 lunch or dinners. You can also use any protein of your choice, I went with chicken on this one. - Ingredients • 1/2 cup chopped white onion (omit for low FODMAPs) • 1 tsp minced garlic (omit for low FODMAPs) • 1 tbsp @chosenfoods avocado oil • 1 cup chopped celery • 1 tbsp @traderjoes coconut aminos • 3 cups chicken bone broth ( I used @primalpastures chicken broth for this soup) • 1 package @cecesveggieco zucchini noodles (or 3 large zucchini’s for spiralizing) • 1 bok choy • diced pre cooked chicken breast • 1 tsp ginger • salt and pepper to taste Begin by sautéing the onions and garlic (if using) in a large soup pan with the avocado oil until slightly browned. Add in the celery along with salt, pepper and ginger and sauté for a few minutes. Add in the bone broth and continue to cook on medium heat. Add in the remaining ingredients and cook on medium heat until boiling. Reduce to a simmer for a few additional minutes. These coconut flax bliss balls with collagen are the perfect little pick me up when you’re also looking for a snack with few ingredients and stores well in the fridge all week. - Ingredients (makes 5) • 3 tbsp coconut oil • 5 medjool dates • 3 tbsp ground flaxseed • 1/4 cup @bobsredmill coconut flour • 1 scoop @vitalproteins vanilla collagen powder • shredded coconut Start out by blending the dates and flaxseeds in a blender. Add in the coconut flour and collagen and finish blending, adding in the melted then cooled coconut oil last. Place the mixture into a bowl and grab a small handful and roll into a ball. Place the shredded coconut on a papaws plate, and roll each ball in the coconut. Place in the freezer for 20 minutes. I’m a huge fan of take out teriyaki rice bowls (anyone else? 🙋🏼‍♀️) and this #whole30compliant rice bowl is just as good as the real deal. - For the teriyaki sauce 1️⃣ 1/3 cup @bonafideprovisions chicken bone broth 2️⃣ 1/4 cup @traderjoes coconut aminos 3️⃣ 2 tbsp @bobsredmill arrowroot powder 4️⃣ 1/4 cup water Start out by heating the bone broth and coconut aminos on low heat. Mix together the arrowroot powder and water and slowly mix into the saucepan while increasing the heat ( if you add it too quickly it will get super sticky, in that case just continue stirring on medium to high heat to thin out). A cold (it’s 52 that’s cold by California standards) and rainy day calls for some crockpot Paleo Pumpkin Chili. All you have to do is toss the ingredients in the crockpot and let it do the rest. - Ingredients: 🔹 1 cup chopped onion 🔹 1 cup chopped mixed bell peppers 🔹 2 tbsp minced garlic 🔹 1 lb @primalpastures ground beef (or any meat) 🔹 1 28 oz can diced tomatoes 🔹 1 6 oz can tomato paste 🔹 1 can pumpkin purée 🔹 1 cup @bonafideprovisions beef bone broth 🔹 1 chopped sweet potato and 1 chopped zucchini 🔹 2 tbsp chili powder 🔹 1 tsp cinnamon 🔹 1 tbsp oregano 🔹 1 tsp chili flakes 🔹 salt and pepper to taste Start out by sautéing the onion and bell peppers with a little bit of oil in a skillet until slightly browned. Add in the garlic and continue to sauté. Add in the ground beef to the skillet or meat of choice, and cook for 8 to 10 minutes. Add the ground beef mixture and the remaining ingredients to the crockpot and cook on low for 8 hours. When I was in high school I wouldn’t have dreamed of walking outside the door without makeup on, let alone posting a picture on social media for even more people to see me without makeup on. With all the filters, editing tools and other ways to make things look less like who we really are, I thought I wouldn’t touch this one up. - Reality is we all have imperfections. I’ve had acne since I was in high school and for all the effort and money I’ve put in to trying to cover it up, It’s just a minor imperfection that I’ve come to embrace. Through face mapping I’ve learned it can tell you a lot like if you need to drink more water. Happy New Year, but more importantly happy #januarywhole30 Whether it’s your first whole 30 or 10th, breakfast can be one of the most difficult meals especially if you can’t tolerate eggs. Not only does this chicken breakfast scramble not include eggs, but it comes together pretty quick and makes enough for breakfast for the next day too. Perfect if your always running late like me. - Start out by preheating the oven to 450. Line a pan with parchment paper and place the butternut squash on top, spray with avocado oil, and season with salt, pepper and cinnamon. Let roast for 30 minutes. In the meantime, place the ground chicken in a cast iron pan on medium heat with some avocado oil and @primalpalate breakfast blend (I didn’t measure, but I used a lot 🤣) Let the ground chicken cook until it is lightly browned. Add in the butternut squash, chopped broccolini and zucchini and continue roasting until veggies are tender. What do you get when you mix a donut, waffle and muffin all in one? These paleo cinnamon sugar breakfast muffins using @birchbenders paleo pancake mix and @primalpalate cinnamon sugar blend. - For the muffins: • 1 1/2 cup @birchbenders paleo pancake mix • 1 tsp @primalpalate cinnamon sugar blend • 1 tsp cinnamon • 1 tsp vanilla • 3/4 cup coconut milk Pre heat the oven to 350. Mix all the dry ingredients in a large bowl, adding in the vanilla and coconut milk last. Fill up a cupcake liner 3/4 full with the mixture, and bake for 30 minutes or until a toothpick can be cleanly removed. What are some of your intentions for 2019? - Sankalpa, which in yoga practice means resolve or setting good intentions, is the practice of resolving that you are already “enough”. I know for me when I set a resolution or completely unobtainable goal I abandon it pretty quick. And it makes you feel less than ideal when you don’t meet those goals. - Instead of setting a resolution, set an intention to embrace where you are while working towards where you want to be. If you’re looking to start a diet or workout routine, set intentions to embrace new foods or exercise you may have never tried before. If at first you don’t succeed, go to the store and buy a brownie mix to save the day. - The avocado cacao brownies didn’t exactly turn out, so @simplemills chocolate cake mix it is. I added a teaspoon of peppermint extract to the mix for a little extra hint of peppermint. When you spent most of the day trying to get started with Christmas shopping only to encounter more traffic than should be logical and tons of other people who procrastinate as much as you, you just need a little simplicity to top off the day, and what’s more simple than some zoodles and paleo turkey meatballs. - For the meatballs: • 1 lb ground turkey • 1 handful spinach • 3 minced garlic cloves • 1 egg • 1 tbsp olive oil • 1/2 cup chopped green onions • 1 tbsp Italian seasoning • 1 tbsp red pepper flakes • 2 tsp @bobsredmill coconut flour • 2 tsp parsley • 1 tsp onion powder • 1 tsp garlic powder • 1 tsp rosemary • 1 tsp all purpose seasoning • 1 tsp poultry seasoning • 1 tsp sea salt Pre heat the oven to 350. In a medium saucepan, place the garlic cloves, green onions, red pepper flakes and spinach with olive oil and sauté until lightly browned. In a large mixing bowl, place the ground turkey, sauté mixture and the rest of the ingredients minus the coconut flour. Slowly add in the coconut flour. Using a large spoon, form the meatballs. Place the meatballs back in the saucepan and brown on all sides (2-3 minutes on each side). Once brown, place the saucepan with the meatballs in the oven and cook for 20 minutes or until cooked thoroughly. Buys donut pan after putting it off for so long, proceeds to turn everything into a donut 🤷‍♀️🍩 - I whipped up these chocolate peppermint donuts using @simplemills chocolate cake mix, following the instructions for cupcakes, but added in 1/4 cup of extra coconut flour. I filled the donut pan molds 2/3 of the way, and let them cook for 20 minutes. For the frosting, I took a page out of @cleaneatsbytay playbook and used @simplemills vanilla frosting melted until it reached a thin drizzle.
