Everyday I ask myself if all of my needs have been met for joy, nourishment, movement, purpose and wealth creation because they’re the practices that support me into alignment. . . I often get messages about people saying “if only I had the time to make fancy meals”. . . I just wanna say that the majority of my meals are not at all ‘fancy’, they’re actually super simple. . Here is an example of a meal that literally took me 10 mins. A few organic lettuce leaves, shaved carrot and cucumber and chicken burgers with fresh coriander. . . A few hacks i like to use and encourage my coaching clients to practice include cutting up (or using a mandolin) veggies so that you can throw them into broth, salad or frittatas. . . Have left overs from dinner for lunch- just add in some fresh veg. . . Cook root veggies in bulk so you’ve got a couple of serves for a few days in advance. You’ll also get the bonus benefit of resistant starch-which is high in cooked and cooled potatoes. . . Were these hacks helpful?? And how do you priorities delicious, nutritious food?? Do you know how incredibly powerful you are?? . . I can’t say it’s something I’ve always remembered, there have been times in my life where I held tight to stories about why my life was the way it was but telling stories doesn’t make space for change. . . This sunrise 🌅 is such a potent reminder to me as the power I hold (and we all hold for that matter). I’ve always yearned to live among nature and the ocean and it’s been just over 12 months since that’s become my reality. . . The circumstances that brought me here may have been uncomfortable but I’m so grateful for the surrender I’ve practiced over the last year because it has brought me closer to a sense of home on every level. . . We have the power to change anything be it our physical wellbeing, our financial prosperity, relationships, living circumstances and anything in between! You’ve just got to clearly see the vision, let the satisfaction of the vision engulf every part of your being and then take the inspired action. It’s easy to complicate the process but when we allow the natural order of things it really is that simple . .M.x

Before I started meditation I wore so many masks 🎭 I kinda felt like a chameleon...adapting to different people to give them what I thought they would like but it wasn’t always true for me and that made me uneasy. . . Using my voice, my body, my mind, my physicality in a way to please others at the expense of pleasing myself was a big lesson to learn. . . But I’m at a place in my life where I’m done wearing masks...I’m committed first and fore most to my own alignment, desires and purpose...this doesn’t mean I’m not there for those I love but it does mean that I won’t compromise my alignment in getting there. . . Coming home is one of the most empowering gifts I’ve ever given myself and I hope that you too will experience that in this life time. M.x

A balanced meal is a nourishing meal! I always make sure I’ve got a protein source, a fat source and of course plenty of veg (starch is dependent on whether I feel like it and what I’ve done that day). _ On the menu tonight are beetroot burgers, cauliflower mash, an avo guac type thing with onion, parsley, EVO and lemon and steamed asparagus with lemon juice and EVO. _ One of the fastest ways to upgrade our physical wellbeing is changing what we put on the end of our fork. _ Nutritious doesn’t mean hrs in the kitchen nor does it mean compromising on taste, it just means eating real food in its most natural form as possible (infused with a little side of love) 💛 M.x

If you’re ticking all the physical wellbeing boxes (like nutrition, movement, sleep and h2o) and still not thriving it might be time to look a little deeper. _ This blog is one near to my heart because I know what’s it’s like to be living in a body and life that doesn’t feel aligned with what you truly desire. _ Over the years I’ve re-discovered that our physical wellbeing is influenced by so much more then what we’re eating, how we’re moving etc. It’s predominantly influenced by what and how we’re thinking 💭. _ Your thought influence your vibration and your vibration creates your reality..so being deliberate in how we think is key to experiencing the life we most desire! How did I do life before these gifts of the earth 🙈🙈 _ Seriously my love affair with essential oils has infiltrated into every area of my self care and lifestyle. From home cleaning, to personal care products to serving as anchors for my emotional and energetic wellbeing- there’s an oil for it all! _ Frankincense was one of the first oils I was ever drawn to and although it’s strong aroma can be off putting at first the therapeutic benefits are next to none. _ It can be applied topically to the skin for a hydrating skin serum with jojoba or olive oil. And I love diffusing it during meditation or placing a drop on my third eye to open my energy, especially when I’m writing or feel like a little extra grounding in my meditation. _ Frankincense has many other potent uses and is often referred to as the “king” of oils or “Gift of the gods” (as it was one of the gifts Jesus received in the bible). _ Have you tried frankincense? Your body was designed to move 🏃‍♀️💃🏋️‍♀️🧘‍♀️ 🚴‍♀️ there is nothing that makes me happier then combining two of my loves nature and movement! . For years I subscribed to rigid training that didn’t take into consideration longevity and my bodies desire for variety. . Now my movement practice encompasses agility, endurance, flexibility and strength and conditioning. . Of course there are areas where my body naturally finds it strength but I also make sure I incorporate the the things I don’t naturally find easy! . Hiking has become a weekly regular and this is one of the things that challenges me more then a strength and conditioning session. . Nature does a pretty good job at keeping me distracted though 💛🙌✨ how do you like to move? Share with me 👇👇 M.x

Lets talk carbs...Are they good for you? Should you eat them? Don’t they make you fat? (And the answer is no on the last one eating too many of them can cause increased body fat but too much of anything can cause that ;)) _ Well it depends on a few different things 1. Do you have any blood sugar issues 2. Are there any hormonal imbalances to consider 3. How much do you physically exert 4. Where are you in your menstrual cycle 5. Are you working with any gut disturbances. _ If you have blood sugar or hormonal issues it may be helpful to reduce carb intake but lower carb doesn’t mean NO carb- the timing and type is important here. In these instances increasing carb intake every 7-10 days may also be beneficial. (Of course seek out practitioner support if you find yourself in either of these scenarios). _ If you exert more physically then your body may need a higher intake of carbohydrates to ensure calorie intake is adequate, for some people increasing fats too high may cause more harm then good and carbs are an alternative way to increase caloric intake. _ When women menstruate hormones obviously change and there can be something said for the types of hormones that are produced when carbs are eaten in relation to supporting a healthy cycle. _ If you’ve got gut disturbances there may be times where you’re put on a protocol to reduce carbohydrates but it’s definitely not something that is long term. (Of course I haven’t mentioned anything about neurological disorders and carb intake because that’s another whole kettle of fish 🐟). _ Bottom line is they have there place and provide the body with energy, nutrients and valuable forms of fibre. _ Removing any macro or micro nutrient for extended periods of time leaves the body susceptible to imbalance. _ I’ve written about the importance of creating a balanced meal in my e-book nutrition for radiance and it gives you a basis on how to build your meals to ensure you’re giving your body everything it needs! _ Eat with the intent to nourish and listen to your bodies signals, then it’ll take care of the rest. Happy hump day this is too good not to share, I know you know I love getting deep. _ BUT I also love to play, to have fun and lead from a place where joy can be experienced in the simple things- including doing a cartwheel and falling on my a*% 🙈🙌 _ So I hope it gives you a laugh 😂 and to make sure I finish in a Maxime fashion I will ask you this: “When was the last time you fed your inner child and gave yourself permission to play?” Life truly is to precious to be ‘serious’ all of the time😉. There was a time in my life where I would’ve told you that creating white space to just sit and be was ‘a waste of time’. _ I had this attitude that you only accomplish through doing and sure I achieved a lot through force. I competed in 8 bodybuilding contests placed top 3 in the majority of them and even came runner up in a national show. I started my own PT business and it was relatively successful. _ BUT living at that pace came with a price, it disconnected me from my inner guidance, my body and what I truly desired. I made plans and rigidly forced myself to fulfil them at what ever means possible. I also had this warped perception that it was me against the world and that I needed to battle. When those close to me struggled I thought it was my duty to carry their burden and became entangled in their web- although know one ever asked me to do that. _ Eventually this led me to two different levels of rock bottom, which in time I’ll know doubt share. _ The upgraded version of me in the here and now relishes in this kind of white space. It adores moving at a pace that is my own and is committed to creating a life by design. _ I hope this encourages you to reflect on how you view white space and gives you the permission to create it. M.x

Total immersion...When I‘m creating there is no concept of time, no past or future..only this moment- the moment of now. _ Over the years I have acquired many practices that support me into this place of presence of being in the here and now but putting words to thoughts has to be one of the most powerful forms of expression for me. _ Where do you experience total immersion? Is it in artistic expression like music, dance or art? Or is it in physical movement like surfing, weight training or running? Perhaps it’s when you’re with animals or serving other humans. _ What ever it is you’ll know because it feels like there is nothing else in the world that exists...the more we bring these activities into our day-to-day the more we influence the vibration we emanate and in turn the reality we experience! _ Allow yourself to seek the things that light your soul on fire 🔥 the universe will deliver them in spades when you do! Liver is one of the most nutrient dense foods in the world. It contains super high levels of iron (essential for strong blood), B vitamins and vitamin A. _ Nose to tail eating has fallen by the way side for many of us in the west but offal is so much more nutrient dense the muscle meat. I always recommend chicken liver as a starting cut the for newbies as it’s got a milder flavour, mixing it with muscle meats like mince is the other hack I suggest😉 _ Do you incorporate offal in your food rotation?
