I fell into the routine of working everyday at Colombe, and this $4 habit is fine with a salary but not so gucci when your income is zero. But I’ve found slashing expenses doesn’t mean cutting indulgences - far from it! This frappe style smoothie is a perfect dupe for @ - and sans the chemicals and crazy high sugar count. Plus it’s packed with protein! Now I whip this up and head to Harold Washington Library - this gorgeous, skylit spot is inspiring and free.
🍌 1/2 cup frozen banana slices
🥛 1/2 cup almond milk or liquid of choice
☕️ 1/2 TB instant coffee 🥜 1 TB peanut butter (optional)
🍫 1 scoop chocolate protein powder -
This is seriously one of my absolute favorites. It tastes so decadent but is healthy enough for breakfast or post workout. Smoothies are all about ratios - I’ve added cacao nibs, cacao powder, subtracted nut butter or coffee before bed for dessert - the customization is endless!
