A huge thank you to everyone that made this #covercrop of #organic sorghum #sudangrass a huge success. Covercrops are used for a variety of reasons. In this plot, we are attempting to crowd out weeds without the use of harmful herbicides by using an aggressive summer grass. Additionally, regular mowing of fast-growing sudangrass eventually improves the tilth (consistency) of the soil by allowing the chopped grass to breakdown into #compost. We hope to plant some #muscadines in this field that have been waiting in their pots for too long #regenerativeagriculture #sustainability #healthysoil #healthypeople #hashtagthirsty #sogreen
