Today we're talking about weeds. What a weed is is highly personal, especially depending on your gardening/farming philosophy. We haven't done much weeding this season mostly because I, Aisha, really dislike the time and energy it takes. I don't like how it disrupts the soil either. So up until today our youngest bed has been our WILD child. This photo represents my weeding compromise. Weeding the beds so we can plant fall brassicas but not the pathways. All the weeds are piled into the center and the living ones are simply matted down. This provides us lots of organic matter for the paths and keeps them mulched to avoid erosion.
