Listening to what your body needs. Knowing when a salad is important. This may sound silly but our bodies ask for specific nutrients. Do you have a designated pasta dinner night? ☀️I hope you all enjoyed some time in the sun yesterday! I spent my day filling up my cup with some writing at the park, walking the pup, reading at the soccer field, and going for a super long bike ride all over town. Have you ever stood on the Center of the hungry hollow bridge and watched the sun set? If you haven’t, I highly recommend☀️ . 🙏🏻By body feels so replenished right now, it’s crazy how big of an impact our Earth can have on the soul. And on that note, a friendly reminder to find a way to supplement your vitamin D throughout the winter - 70% of North Americans are deficient do to the lack of sun in the dark months! I just take a little vitamin D pill every day that you can get from any grocery store. Something to look into💕 . 🌱The ultimate superfood smoothie bowl: Goji berries, maca powder, homemade raw nut butter, blueberries, & @northcoastnaturals chocolate protein🤤... and Roy cause she’s super too😉

🍂Made @minimalistbaker ‘s Vegan and gluten free cinnamon rolls for our TGD! Sprinkled a little pumpkin spice on top for some festive flair🍂It was my first time making dough from scratch - something I wasn’t sure if I could do but hey, they turned out alright!👏🏻 . Happy Thanksgiving lovely humans! We sure have a lot to be thankful for🙏🏻

🌱What do you do when avocados ripen too fast? Freeze them in cubes and toss them in a spirulina smoothie bowl aaaaayyyy💪🏻 . YOU are stronger than you think💪🏻 Sometimes I look back on past experiences and I nearly cringe at the moments I’ve been wronged or I’ve wronged someone else OR I’ve wronged myself. But I read a quote the other day, and to paraphrase for the sake of my not so sharp memory - if you look back on those moments in your life, and you get that gut wrenching feeling, then you’re growing. Because learning and growing only allows us to see those actions and know better . I’m constantly trying to know better. To give myself grace. To give others grace. Yesterday was a full on rest and recovery day after the half marathon run on Sunday. I woke up barely able to lift my legs out of bed ... don’t even get me started on the attempts to pick myself up off the toilet😂 . 👣 Epson seasalt bath with seaweed (@lushcosmetics) 👣 Refuelling with nutrient filled foods 👣 Casual walk around my neighbourhood 👣 Magnesium spray on muscles 👣 Lots of fluids 👣 Early to bed . I honestly underestimated what recovery means! But I’m grateful for even this experience because navigating that type of exhaustion allowed me to really look inwards. I’m excited to reflect on that and share as a new blog post! Stay tuned 💪🏻

🤔Did you know...? 🤔 Sprouting beans and legumes helps to reduce their phytic acid content. Phytic acid acts as an inhibitor during the digestion process, causing some micronutrients to be less bioavailable 🌱 As humans, we lack Phytase - an enzyme necessary to counter the inhibiting effects of phytic acid. This is why methods such as fermentation & soaking can be super beneficial! Not to mention, us vegans needs to ensure that the nutrients we put into our body’s are being absorbed properly. 🙏🏻 The process is fairly simple, soak your beans/legumes for a number of hours per day, rinse them, dry them overnight, and repeat! Watch their little sprouty tails grow - it’s cute I promise!😂
