Why do I coach others? . . I remember scrolling through Instagram comparing my body & life to those who looked glamorous & happy.  I wondered what it would be like to not feel lost when it came to fitness.  To go into my workout with confidence instead of feeling like all eyes were on me.  I had no idea how to fuel my body & would give up a new fad diet or workout within a week. . . I coach for the women out there who relate to this.  We all go through season of life where we need a buddy who believes in us & helps us see the light at the end of the tunnel.  I'm a believer that we all have magic inside of us, and I want every person I come in contact with to be able to unleash their magic. . . After 2 days on the road, followed by a day with a house filled with family for Thanksgiving 1, I am so grateful for a day to not only return to normal eating, but also to just relax in my childhood home.


Only in Mora...


I may not be grateful for single digit temperatures, but I am grateful for growing up in the country, in a place with 4 seasons, and a job that allows me to go back home for a week at a time for the holidays.


I have made the drive between Texas & Minnesota dozens of times since making the move to TX from MN nearly 7 years ago. At this point I could probably do it with my eyes shut. Kansas is without fail always my favorite part of the drive. The novelty never wears off and the views never cease to amaze me.

Living 1000 miles away from my family & friends is definitely hard sometimes.  I am lucky enough however to have a job that allows me to go home for both Thanksgiving & Christmas & spend at least a week there each time. As I start my journey back to MN today from TX I can't help but think about how I want to be able to spend my time there.  I want to be able to ENJOY my time there & be focused & in the moment while I am with my loved ones. . . The best way I know to do that is by making sure I don't have to think about or obsess about me or my health because I have a plan!  Y'all I am so excited for the Holiday Hustle 21 Day Fix!  From 11/26-12/16 I will be running a fitness challenge group to help combat the almost inevitable holiday weight gain.  The holidays should be spent enjoying time with friends & family, and that delicious food that's always served!  But why wait for January 1 to set goals to lose that holiday weight?  Why not spend 3 weeks between Thanksgiving & Christmas jump starting those goals? . . Pep rally days are the best days! I don't teach until 11:40 which means I don't have to leave home until 10-10:30. This morning in was able to get 2 workouts in, pack up everything for my week in MN + road trip there and back, get the car loaded up so after work I can just grab Nash & go, run a couple errands, and then get in some hang time with Nash.


Street's Fine Chicken: Fantastic Food, Superb Service. . . . Cheat meals happen & that's okay! Just don't let one cheat meal turn into a cheat week, cheat month, cheat year!


After a few days of freezing cold temperatures it was finally warm enough for an evening stroll.


The best part of my day is after I've eaten breakfast, after my workout is over, and when I just get to hang out with Nash-o before heading to work.

My daily view, well ya know plus students usually. My current full time job, teaching and coaching at the high school level, is the reason I decided to become a health & wellness coach as well. 7 years in & I was starting to feel unbelievably stressed out. All the things I originally loved about teaching, I was starting to no longer feel or get out of it. In just under a month my outlook has totally changed. Since becoming a coach I have noticed that I feel better physically, emotionally, and mentally. The workouts, the nutrition, and the ability to help others has made me so much happier!


I am far from perfect when it comes to eating. I try to follow the 80/20 rule as often as possible. However life happens! Especially during the holidays! The average person gains 7-10 pounds during the holidays. Earlier today I mentioned the Holiday Hustle 21 Day Fix group I'll be running from 11/26-12/16. On Oct 22, a day before my 30th birthday, I decided to start the @beachbody @21dayfix . I was finally starting to notice that my days of being able to eat whatever I wanted, whenever I wanted, all the while NEVER working out were behind me. 💙 Yesterday I finished the 21 Days! There were definitely days I didn't want to workout, and plenty of times that I used the modifications, but I still managed to do them because not only did I actually want to see a workout plan through for once in my life, at the end of the day a 30 minute workout was nothing. Especially when you aren't even working out for the entire 30 min thanks to warm ups, cool downs, and breaks between moves. 💙 The eating plan wasn't as hard as I thought it would be either because I wasn't really giving anything up. Plus, I still had "cheat" days. My birthday fell in that 3 weeks, Halloween was in there, and so were Minnesota Vikings games... and football = beer & wings... Point being I ate healthy 80+ percent of the time but didn't drive myself crazy by not ever allowing myself something "bad" 💙 Having a group to support me while doing it also helped even if we weren't all on the same program. 💙 At the end of this month, from Nov 26 - Dec 16, I will be running another support/challenge group. This time it will be 21 Day Fix specific.
