#TasteTestTuesday - Most cultivated raspberries are red, but there are also varieties in yellow, apricot, and amber, which are relatively similar in flavor and texture. Purple and black raspberries have a different, slightly sweeter, flavor. Golden raspberries are raspberries that ripen to golden (they're not unripe red raspberries). Their gold color can range from pale yellow to deep gold. Often described as similar in taste to red raspberries, they are slightly less tart and often more delicate (making it harder to ship). #WellnessWednesday - "Stand tall, wear a crown, and be sweet on the inside." "Stand tall" - Standing tall is hard to do. When life knocks you down, it takes a lot of courage to stand back up and keep pushing forward. Standing tall means standing up for what you believe in, chasing your dreams, and supporting your friends, family, and yourself no matter hard it may be. Not being afraid to stand tall is key to living the life that you want for yourself. "Wear a crown" - Wearing a crown is about being humble yet knowing you are special. "Wear a crown" means to know your worth and know that you deserve more. Wear your crown and show everyone that you are confident and love your life. "Be sweet on the inside" - Love and respect all people. Be open to all and never judge. Be the person others aspire to be but always strive to be better than you were the day before. I've learned a lot in this past year - if it doesn't challenge you it doesn't change you - and have lots more to learn. There have been so many amazing opportunities and experiences in this past year. #TasteTestTuesday - Longan - With a brown outer shell, flesh that is white, and black seed in the middle, longans are often referred to as the Dragon Eye fruit. The ratio of seed to fruit is almost perfect in a longan and looks like an eyeball when cut in half. They are tart and distinctive in flavor, almost buttery in taste (when compared to it's cousin the lychee). Harvested here in Florida in July - August. These longans are a little small this year - once again, not a great year for the tropical fruit (those hurricanes did a number on us). With no added sugar, combine vanilla, mint, and lime juice to create an easy, yet flavorful dressing. It’s cool, refreshing, and perfect for a hot summer day! ☀️🍇 #BaptistHealthy @rd_amy . . Ingredients: 1 16oz container strawberries, hulled and chopped 1 pound green grapes, halved 1 cup blueberries 1 cup mango, diced Juice of 1 lime ½ teaspoon vanilla extract A handful of mint leaves, finely chopped. . . Directions: 1. Wash and slice fruit – try and have them all to be uniform in size. 2. Make dressing by whisking the lime juice and vanilla extract. Julienne or chop the mint leaves and stir into the dressing. 3. Pour dressing over fruit and stir until evenly combined. Chill in the refrigerator for at least 30 minutes before serving. . .
