The mesmerizing Tre Cime Di Lavaredo, what is a beautiful place to explore now was once a fierce battle ground between Austria and Italy in WWI. I think sometimes we forget how fortunate we are to live in a more peaceful time. That isn’t to say more progress around the world is needed, but I will forever be grateful to have spent the night up in these mountains in peace and comfort.
Nothing can truly prepare you for the weather in the Dolomites unless you’ve experienced it... one minute can be cloudy, the next amazing and sunny and then before you know it, the sky is raining down thunder and lightning on you. Here is one of the more forgiving moments from the Dolomites.. photo by @bkenning
I met Callum and Celeste through this platform and was lucky enough to hike with them in Switzerland. What struck me most was that at only 19 years old, they were sacrificing creature comforts and simple luxuries to pursue their shared passion for experiencing the world and growing a stronger relationship together. I knew I had to capture some images that will one day allow them to reflect on this crazy time in their life and remember the love that blossomed from these experiences.
There are certainly some incredible places in this world waiting to be seen... 😍 ————————— Created by shooting 3 2.5 second exposures and merging in @adobe@lightroom 🙌🏼
@bkenning appreciating the raw power of Seljalandfoss, there were few images captured without water droplets this day 💦
Human for scale...
One thing I learned venturing in Iceland and Europe was a newfound patience with and appreciation of the weather. We would be blasted by storms out of nowhere at times and treated to an amazing sunset at other times. It’s not what happens that determines your experiences in life but rather how you react to what happens, the moment you realize this is the moment you begin making the most of each and every moment. #roam247#mystopover
We put all of our marbles in one basket to plan our road trip with @happycampers_ around the weather at this amazing place. It paid off, with the clouds beginning to clear in the afternoon and then being treated to one of the most amazing sunsets I have ever witnessed. #roam247
My first time experiencing midnight light didn’t disappoint. I stayed at this waterfall and shot until 2AM, experimenting with the faint blue light that never left the Northern horizon. This particular image is a combination of three different long exposures to capture myself as a subject and the height of the waterfall. It’s amazing to explore these famous locations in the middle of the night with no one else around. #iceland
Solo mornings in Switzerland, what a view 😍 #roam247
This was one of the most hard earned sunset views I’ve ever had, not in terms of hiking effort, but the amount of logistics required to make it possible. I had met @curlycally and Celeste a week ago by car at the trailhead, only to miss the last cable car up and wake up the next morning to torrential rain. We decided it was best to postpone the hike. Then a week had passed as I waited around Munich to receive my new passport as I had damaged mine camping in Italy. Finally, I managed to snag a bus yesterday to Zurich and left just enough time to make the last cable fan by carpooling with Callum and Celeste, and THEN, when I thought we finally made it, it turned out the cable car was cash only, and I had no franks.... luckily, we sorted it out and were up well before sunset, with inky good views and good vibes to be had 🙌🏼 #storytellers#youdidnotsleepthere#outdoorliving#roam247
Spot the human for scale. We met @ujomux_dev the night before under a ski lift taking shelter from a wicked thunderstorm cloud that had engulfed our tents. Unfortunately my tent pegs failed while we were taking shelter and our gear got soaked (with my passport being ruined). The next morning we woke up to more cloud and rain, needless to say @bkenning and I were a little grumpy, yet the rest of the campers were making the most of the views and taking it in. Luckily about an hour later, the light cleared and @ujomux_dev happened to be standing next to his tent preparing to pack it up when I shot this photo. Long story short, stay positive, roll with the punches and remember that good luck comes to those who work hard.
@bkenning with a perfect 10 dive into ice cold glacial water 🙌🏼
An epic first morning in Europe with a sunrise in Slovenia, always an epic road trip with the kid @bkenning! #feelslovenia *Question to photographers, has anyone had noise problems with the DJI Mavic Pro? I shot this image at 100 ISO and the noise resembled that of an image shot at 10,000 ISO!
Drunk on 5€ Prosecco sitting in awe of the Milky Way over this mountain hut in the Dolomites, Italy is treating me well 🙌🏼
That feeling when the sky explodes with colour 😍 what a morning in Lorne.
