Deep in the backcountry awaits a big beautiful hut to keep you dry and warm, luckily my @gregorypacks helped get me there! Despite this hut having no wood stove, simply being dry and out of the wind is enough to stay warm with a good sleeping bag and sleeping pad. It’s experiences like these that motivated me to move to the mountains and try new things. Thanks @heyheyimtay_j for snapping this!

Conditions change so quickly in the mountains, we had already attempted to summit Frodo peak that morning and turned back because of whiteout conditions and wind, by the time we skied down things had improved. You win some and you lose some, safety first, always. #explorecanada #hellobc

Last light in Manitoba, a great end to a full day of snowmobiling with my dad - will always cherish these days πŸ™ŒπŸΌ #travelmanitoba #explorecanada #wearewinter

Skiing down from Frodo peak, we were the only ones to venture into this zone last weekend and had a hut and 20 square km area to ourselves πŸ™ŒπŸΌ If you plan on heading into the backcountry this winter, make sure you have the proper training, avalanche rescue gear (probe, shovel, beacon) and a trip plan left with others so they know when to expect you back! Safety first folks! #explorecanada

If it weren't for the chairlift in the background, it would be easy to think the ski patroller cabins are a backcountry A-frame with endless pow out the door ❄️ #REDresort #Rossland

Returned from the backcountry this weekend to see that there are now ten thousand of you following my work! I'm excited for the adventures to come and hope to continue inspiring all of you to get out and create your own adventures! Here's ten photos of me from my adventures over the past year πŸ™ŒπŸΌ

@bkenning just dropped a recap video from @RedResort, see it on his profile πŸ™ŒπŸΌ This is a ski patroller cabin, so unfortunately you can't spend the night here, but I would if I could!! Would you? #REDresort #Rossland #explorecanada #artofvisuals #aov10k [ps]

The other day I looked to my left while driving from Dryden to Winnipeg to see this scene unfold. I tried to stop right away but the icy highway didn't let me so I backed down the highway to get this shot πŸ˜‚ a halo formed perfectly around the sun and island, created by a reflection off ice particles in the atmosphere 😍 (this effect is more commonly seen than the moon one I shared the other day) #explorecanada #earthpix

It's easy to want to stay inside when it's so cold out, but some warm coffee and a fire make it possible to watch a frigid sunrise in Northern Ontario πŸ™ŒπŸΌβ„οΈ it doesn't hurt when you have your pups to snuggle also πŸ˜‚ #explorecanada

It pays dividends to get up before the sun and hit the lake for a little hike in some fresh snow, especially when it's -35 outside πŸ˜‰ #explorecanada

Happy new year! We drove out onto the ice road last year (a few days ago πŸ˜‚) to realize there was a full moon and a really cool effect that only occurs when it is extremely cold outside! The ring seen in this picture is the result of all the moisture in the air being crystallized into ice and reflecting the light from the moon. During the day we call them "sun dogs", anyone know what they are called when it occurs with a moon?! My guess is "moon dogs"... #explorecanada

Popping out of the inversion at @redresort 😍 extremely excited to get back on the skis in January! What are you most excited for this winter? #REDresort #Rossland

I have terrible allergies to dog fur, still doesn't stop me from getting suckered by Dewy to give him a pet πŸ™ˆπŸ˜‚

-34 just before sunrise, we had to see the water freeze mid-air with our own eyes 😍 #explorecanada

Winter wonderland @redresort ❄️❄️❄️ #REDresort #Rossland

Seeing a full inversion has been on my bucket list for years. I've always heard stories that @redresort gets the most insane inversions with the Kootenay Sea below the mountain tops. Luckily we got this epic view our first day from the top of the Red Chair on the resort, I had to give my camera to @stevereekie for a quick shot to remember this wicked moment. #REDresort #Rossland

Sunrise views on Mt. Seymour, it pays dividends to go out on Dawn Patrol 😎 *don't head out into the backcountry this winter without proper avalanche training and gear! (Beacon, prone, shovel)*

It's always special going home to the snow for the holidays, can't wait to be heading back in a few days β„οΈπŸ™ŒπŸΌ
