Apparently I’ve known these exceptional people for 20 years - since before the one who just finished college could talk. What a total treat to spend an evening with them after far too long (and find I haven’t forgotten quite all of my Italian!). #oldfriends#italianianewyork
One of the few non-farm accounts in my feed has gone to the farm today too! 👩🏼🌾👨🏾💼 (ps farmers also want a fair price & some of them want production controls and a grain reserve to make that happen) #Repost@petesouza with @get_repost
President Obama tours MogoOrganic farm with Agriculture Secretary Tom Vilsack, right, and Morgan Hoenig, left, (and a few Secret Service agents) in Mount Pleasant, Iowa, in 2010. I’m sure they all know that farmers want open markets, not tariffs and a temporary bailout, for stability to stay in existence. Not everyone seems to know that.
The sweetest, most stalwart, supportive, enthusiastic, and caring friend left Brooklyn today, setting off towards Tucson with her partner for their next chapter. For somewhere in the neighborhood of 14 years (minus 2.5ish of her grad school and after, but that included six weeks traveling together in India...), Koren has been like bedrock for my life in Brooklyn. A more reliable and up-for-anything friend or a bigger cheerleader you’d be hard pressed to find. Her family in Tucson is lucky to have her back; I will miss her terribly. . (Pic: Taj Mahal 2012.
