Behind the knee banded pistol squats, bb stiff legs, narrow stance heavy goblet squats, some leg curls, and adductions THEN... 405 at the end of the workout. 3-3-0 tempo. Generally, these help me feel ready to start hitting heavier squats. Feeling better and better. 405 for a single. Just having some birthday fun yesterday. Much more excited about the second pic: @flexi_teeters and I's little home office. When I look at all of last year, I can truly say I've never been hit harder in life. I believe that we both faced our mortality this year. Not once, but twice. Myself at 27, and lex at 23. And for those who know our story, that was basically the back ground news. We're rebuilding from every facet of our life, in business, the gym, even our (at one point physical also) mental health. All that being said, we're succeeding through the punches. And confidence, once crippled by situation just a few months ago, is steadily rising. I believe in myself for the first time in my entire life. 600x1 after no #barbell #squats or #deadlifts for 17 days. Back felt fine, and held a little weight. The change of direction in squat is still the tenuous portion as I make a second #comeback. To be moving the weights that I'm moving right now, so early in training, and fairly comfortably, Im quite happy with it.... I could be more thankful though. Just a few short months ago this was play weight. We all fall off the horse sometimes. As you're scrolling through social media, and you're having a bad day, make sure you remember that. It feels a bit like we're building back at home now. Life, business, our own lifting. Just a few weeks ago this felt super heavy just on bench alone. This felt so much better in my hands even for close grip today. 315x7 for the top set. Which honestly isn't far off of a PR for that movement. This set was exactly what I expected...until it wasn't. I've been lazy with my core work getting back into it and that's what happens. Little pop in the left QL. It'll be pissed off tonight and tomorrow and will calm down as the week goes on. Weekend and next week, should be squatting and pulling again. I actually can't believe how light she felt. 600x (an abruptly cut off 6). Lots of unnecessary and not helpful movement in here, but that's also why we film things. Next time, it won't hurt, and it'll look a hell of a lot better. Some good high bar work. 495x7. Inching along and it feels great. Technique is starting to fall in better line. For reference, it's been about 4 weeks of consistent training, couple squat times a week, couple bench, and they're just starting to feel better. So If you're coming back into the game, be patient with yourself. 585x3 top set. Not as much as instas current finest, but I am where I am. Finally not being a dillhole as I restart training. I dislike conventional, but it sucks a lot less when you don't hurt after, anymore. Technical help from @gaglionestrength has been a game changer for me for this reason.
