1&2: Duck Breast, Confit Thigh, & Heart: the duck is one of the signature items at Canis and for good reason. The different parts were all executed quite well, my favourite being the springy duck heart. The breast looked stellar, tasted good, but had a bit too much chew to it. Maybe I'm biased but I still think Chinese style BBQ duck is the best 😂. 3: The beef short rib in onion broth was absolutely marvelous, probably my favourite of the main courses. Ideal balance of fat and meat, succulent juiciness brought to the maximum by the sweet smokiness of the onion broth. I almost drank all the broth with a spoon, but ended up getting a piece of bread to soak it all up instead.
4: Chunks of perfectly cooked lobster served with a sauce made in part from the lobster itself to accentuate the meat. There was also a super subtle accent of herbaciousness that made me think of bak kut teh (肉骨茶)
