Pictured: Jessica's reaction to me eating 13 cheesesteaks over a 24 hours.
Unfortunately I was only able to get to 11, as John's Roast Pork, and Gin&Pop wasn't open until after leaving for PHL.
#11 - Steve's Prince of Steaks
Tough meat, poor distribution of cheese and onions, Costco esque bread. Terrible sandwich.
#10 Pat's King of Steaks
The OG but definitely a tourist trap. Wiz drizzled on top only for poor distribution.
#9 Geno's Steaks
Right across from Pat's, bread and cheese were better, and a dollar cheaper.
#8 Max's Steaks
Not pictured because it was not photogenic. They opened 15 min late so I waited 50 minutes to get my food despite being 3rd in line. Would come again for the giant roll.
#7 Wiz Kid
Vegan cheese steak with a rutabaga wiz. Seitan was too salty and the bread a little to firm to hold it together.
Another vegan spot, another salty seitan filling. The wiz was not as good but the bread was significantly better.
#5 Barclay Prime
Objectively the best tasting of them all, but at $150 after tip it wasn't 15x better than any of the other sandwiches. Had to try it for the wagyu, foie, and truffle. Half a bottle of Moet was included with the cost.
#4 Tony Luke's
I got this at the airport so it probably wasn't the full experience, but it was still really good even though I waited a couple of hours to eat it.
A very good steak with good bread. Unfortunately, it gets dinged by being just way out in the middle of nowhere. Not worth going out of the way for it when good cheesesteaks are available much closer.
#2 Jim's Steaks
Also not pictured because of poor visual appeal. There was a super long wait (50 min) thanks to the huge line, but boy was it worth it. Excellent meat and wiz distribution. Every Uber driver I had said they liked this place the best.
#1 Woodrow's Sandwich Shop
They make their own wiz here, none of that Kraft shit. That alone made is tasted better than everything else, but all the other ingredients were top notch as well. This was my last stop so I was dying, but this sandwich was so good I had to finish it.
