Top single today 3x1 no wraps no straps no belt. 5kg up on last week will continue to increase weight each week til i max out.Then 3x5 at 20kg less then 2x10 at 40kg less. Also ran for 20mins before this squat session just to clear the demons if you know what I mean. Lifted at USPA BEND THE BAR last weekend. Convinced @uspatexas puts on some of the best meets in the country. • Went 8/9 Squat: 435 (16lb meet PR) Bench: 264.5 (missed 275) Deadlift: 524 (50lb meet PR) 1223.5 total at 164 lbs and a 66 lb meet PR. • Super pleased with squat and deadlift since they were both all time PRs. Thanks to @thebarbellresistance for the endless training volume and having way more confidence in my squatting capabilities than I had. Also couldn’t have had such a successful weekend without my man @trkrieg and all his help and support. I think everyone has a moment where they realize what they are truly capable of. A single opportunity that they seize that shows them how much potential they have should they use the gifts they were given. My moment was this meet. Leading up to this meet I knew I wanted to make a statement. Once I got there and started seeing athlete after athlete walk in that were all stronger than me I realized it was time to join them. I was here for a reason. 1603 lbs later I made that statement. I am still humbled to have been invited to the @kernusopen, and I am more than ready to start prep tomorrow. If you trained with me during the BoB prep you know how fast I flip the switch. And I just flipped that switch. As my coach @alexuslar would say, LETS FUCKING GO.

🔥Full video on my YouTube channel 🔥 WEEK1 DAY 1- Started this prep pretty light with 385 for a top single and 355 as my top working sets. But light doesn't mean easy. We did 3 sets of 4 reps at 355 and 2 sets of 6 reps at 315. Finishing off with a bunch of accessories,like the Front Squats. We didn't go light just for a break, we did it for a reason. During my last prep we noticed a slight knee valgus. My Squat #s are climbing, so all my imperfections are starting to show. If you listen in the back you'll hear Pops yell "Grip the floor" WHAT DOES HE MEAN BY THAT? At the beginning, the cue was "vertical shins/ weight on your heels" now that we got that down, we need to make sure my toes aren't coming up while doing so. Meet recap!! Yesterday was a whirlwind of emotions. (Joy, anger, frustration, self-doubt, etc.) I had a FANTASTIC support group though. I had high expectations and I only hit one of them, but I took the win! So recap, squat: 1 for 3 @162.5 kg, bench: 1 for 3 @80 kg, deadlift: 3 for 3 @182.5 kg. Total was 425 kg/935 lbs. I PR’d my deadlift and total for this meet. It was a true neck and neck battle. My 402# deadlift secured my first place win. I’m not going to make any excuses. It wasn’t the meet I planned for, but I gave it everything I had in me. I want to thank @daniel_west_cpt @nat26kat Melissa @bigbadwolff24 for coming to the meet and spending the day being in my corner. Picking my head up, trying to keep me in a good head space and focused on the end goal. I am truly blessed to be surrounded by such amazing people. Now I will take a little time to refocus, make new goals, spend time with family, friends and my lovely fiancé. Day 3 of the water load, and the last day of freely eating. Of course the wife @michelleshillinglaw made reservations at the new Brazilian steakhouse, all you can eat place.... now sitting at 200.0 pounds and i have to be 165 by Friday. Granted, its after 20 pounds of water today and about 500 grams of carbs, and I woke up at 186 (which is my actual weight). So let's see if I can work my magic. 505lbs felt great so I jumped to 585lbs and yeaaaaa....🤦🏽‍♂️😂 dropped down for a set of 3 with 505lbs (pr) after that but I was pretty burnt. Then 3X5 with 315lbs (pr) which moved pretty well. So I didn’t hit what I wanted today but it was still a decent training session. I know where to improve and plan on smashing that weight in deads. #staypositive

The downside about intermittent fasting is that my eating window doesnt open till 1pm. Therefore, during todays session I was hungry af as fuck. But thanks to lady gaga I made it through haha. Hit a top single hookgrip/beltless pr of 455 before paused deathlifts at 405 then on to deficit SLDL with 225.
