💥SWIPE FOR REALITY ➡️ A couple of weeks ago I posted this first picture about my body journey on my personal IG account. Even after 6 weeks of intense F45 training, a blow dry and a fake tan I was still apprehensive to post it because I was worried that my tummy still wasn’t toned enough for the glossy feeds of Instagram. What if a guy I dated a million years ago saw it? Or that girl from high school who padlocked my bag to a bin? What would they think? When I finally did post it, the feedback from friends and strangers was overwhelmingly positive. I even received a bunch of new followers which in hindsight is really fucked up. ⏸
The truth is, I started doing F45 everyday because I wanted to look good in a sports bra (I’m top heavy or apple shaped so fat tends to accumulate around my arms, back and belly) and superficial goals are ok to have. But what I’ve discovered is that my daily group exercise routine is about so much more than that.
Most importantly It gives me somewhere to be every morning and provides me with the structure that I’ve been lacking in my life since becoming self employed.
Swipe across for how I actually look after exercise every single day. I’m a sweaty, blotchy, makeup-free mess of a human being but I’m happy. The best thing is that it puts me in a positive headspace for the rest of the day which for me, is so much better than seeking that instant validation and happiness from how you look on the gram. 🚺
I’m constantly in awe of people like @ and @ who post it like it is, especially when it comes to their bodies. I hope in time that we all begin to love the unfiltered version of ourselves just as much as the “perfect shot”. Love to all,
