Can anyone guess what this curious piece of of nature is?!
It’s a banana flower stem!
And I have been obsessing over it lately.
Why is this important?
Because just a few short years ago, I was obsessing over my body shape, hooking up with boys, and designer clothes.
And since deepening my relationship with nature, all of this has changed.
So in honour of the amazing work of art that nature is, over the next 7 days, I am going to share 7 lessons I have learned from nature and how they have changed my life.
Lesson 1: take time to appreciate the beauty of nature. •
When we stop, really stop, and just take in the beauty of nature, it creates space for gratitude and joy for life to seep in. And the more we focus on the beauty, the more the joy grows. It really is limitless, and it helps us to recognize just how blessed we are to be alive. When we can connect deeply to these feelings, reallly feel them and let them it, it can completely transform our mood. And if we cultivate a regular practice of appreciating the beauty of nature, this appreciation seeps into the rest of our lives too.
It was through connecting with the beauty of nature that I was able to totally change my perspective on the world and permanently shift my focus away from material-oriented goals, to a heart and soul-fulfilling purpose.
I realized, why spend time doing and worrying about the bs that society is telling me to do, when I can just love and enjoy life?
From there, the question became, how do I recreate my life so that I am only doing what I love and enjoy?
And thus, I embarked on an ever unfolding journey of releasing time-consumers and beliefs that aren’t mine and doing what I love instead. Now here I am, playing with banana flower stems, fulfilled by simply being myself. 🧝🏼♀️
