The Cold Hard Scoop: Graeter’s Cookie Dough Chocolate Chip
I don’t think enough can be said about the quality and consistency that @ brings to the table, especially as a brand so widely available in grocery stores nationwide. This pint is another prime example of this. The vanilla base is not only dense and creamy, but its flavor still manages to come to the forefront and not be overshadowed completely by the mixins like some vanilla bases tend to be. This is one of the best vanilla bases available in grocery stores without a doubt. I was almost sad that I only had a few initial bites of plain base, key word being almost. Now let’s chat about these mixins. This pint, like every other Graeter’s pint I’ve scooped, was absolutely LOADED. Every bite had either a chocolate chip (not sure why these are called “chips,” some of these things are quarter-sized beasts, so freakin good) or a piece of cookie dough and most bites had multiple of both. Not sure how they do it, but these chips legit melt-in-your-mouth. They are not the flakes or rock hard chips you typically see, they are a completely different level of taste and quality. The cookie dough chunks are also fantastic. My only gripe is that they were small, but when there are so many of them, that really doesn’t matter.
All three of the elements combine to make what is my favorite OG cookie dough pint, hands down. If you have any affinity to cookie dough or honestly if you just have a pulse, you need to get your hands on this one. Though it doesn’t surpass Buckeye Blitz, this ranks right up there with Cookies ‘n Cream, Cheese Crown, and the other Graeter’s classics. Once again, Graeter’s takes a simple flavor and executes it to near perfection.
