This game isn’t always about PR’s and new muscle gain.. Sometimes there’s injuries and distractions. Over the past week and a half I haven’t been training as consistently as before due to celebrating my birthday and Christmas coming up. As well as this a couple weeks ago I injured my hip during training (nothing amazing, managed to hurt myself on the adductor machine🙃) so I haven’t been training legs at all trying to get it healed. Today it felt a little better so I thought I’d try some squats. I worked up to a double with 100kg. My power is still there and as you can see by the video I could have probably done more.. The hip is still tender so I’ll be doing minimal work with squats and some stretch and mobility work before I try and push the weight up again. Also do I need to work on my squat depth? Lemme know down below💪🏻

Activate Your CHEST In A Bench Press! 💪🤩 (Sound On💥) ———————————————————————— Save This Video ↗️ Try It Out ———————————————————————— Follow @bertzthomsen for more workouts 🤩🏋️‍♂️💥 ———————————————————————— The common mistakes I see when trying to activate your chest muscles in a bench press is: 1️⃣ Flat back on the bench 2️⃣ Way to high position and lock out in albous 3️⃣ To heavy weight to get the feeling first INSTEAD TRY ↙️ . 1️⃣ Arching your back on the bench (Keep your chest highest always) 2️⃣ Keep your albous tight into your body and stop right before you are locking out fully in your albous (I personally imagine I squeezing my biceps against my chest to really get the contraction) 3️⃣ Build up your weights slowly (50kg with good muscle contact, is better than 100kg with A-B movement) if you are looking to develop a Big Beautiful Chest

✅Avoid knee pain doing leg extensions • 1️⃣ Don't lock knees at top - go as high as you can we/out knee locking 2️⃣ Adjust seat so you're not sitting too far forward or back (knee should be in line with axis point) 3️⃣ Control the weight - avoid swinging (common sense but I see this more than anything) • Try these tips out & I guarantee it'll take your leg game to a new level 😎

The upper chest is usually the most underdeveloped portion of the chest for most guys, and it’s hard to develop with just the standard incline dumbbell bench press that everyone does. So, I thought I’d share one of my favorite upper chest exercises: I call it the Pinch Press! _____________________ This exercise replaces the dumbbells from your standard incline bench press with a plate (I use a 45lb plate but use whatever weight works for you!). To perform this movement, first situate yourself on the bench with the plate in between your hands as shown. Don’t grip the plate with your fingers, rather push your hands together using your palms to keep the weight in place. From there, stick your chest out, push your shoulder blades into the back of the bench, and push the plate up. Hold the plate for a second or two at the top of the movement and then slowly bring it back down to your chest. _____________________ By not gripping the plate with your fingers, you rely on the force of your hands pushing together to keep the plate from moving or slipping, which maximizes the contraction of your upper chest! Give it a try and let me know what you think! 💪🏼

Yesterday was not my best day at the gym. I had my first "bad workout" during the last 3 months. . I was angry because I wasn't getting a good pump, everything felt heavier than usual, etc. . Instead of letting all that get to me I decided to do the best and finish my workout. Once I got to my room, I started to think about the past 3 days. . Immediately noticed a pattern during the last 3 days. . 1. I have been sleeping about 4hrs a day. 2. Missing 1 or 2 meals per day. 3. Not drinking at least half a gallon of water. . I think that this proves that lack of sleep, not eating enough, and not drinking water enough will affect your performance. . That is why consistency and tracking your meals, sleep, etc is very important. So I’ve decided next year I’m going to compete in powerlifting. Today I thought I’d see how far I can push my deadlift without straps and managed 170 x 1! I’m very happy with this as I maintained good form and it’s only 20kg below my 1RM with straps! 👊🏻
