Food for thought: what is healthy and good for me, might not be healthy or good for you. Your fuel can be my poison & vice versa. Have you ever thought about how different animals each have their own kind of diet? Some are carnivores, others only eat plants, some might eat both. So why can’t it be the same for us, too? Each one of us is different - different body compositions, blood types, genetics, microbiomes. Wouldn’t that mean that we all have a different diet? How could being vegetarian or vegan work for everyone? Or eating only raw foods work for everyone? Or the fact that some people cannot eat that many fruits or carbs? While some might thrive on a carb diet, others gain weight. While some people can be be vegan, it’s not sustainable for everyone. But that doesn’t mean I don’t believe we can all be a lot more conscious about the food we put into our mouths. That we don’t think about where our food is coming from and how the animals were treated. I believe in reducing the consumption of animal products not only for our wellbeing but the wellbeing of animals and ultimately our planet. The point is: figure out what works for you and find out what doesn’t. Experiment with it. Don’t just follow the crowd. Be the black sheep. Find your own way of being healthy but don’t turn a blind eye to what is really going on behind the scenes of the food industry. I don’t let a day go by without doing something that I LOVE 😍 to do. At least one ☝🏼 thing ! Whether it’s yoga 🧘🏻‍♀️, running, cooking, taking a class, going to the park with my dog, going to events, meeting up with a friend for dinner, reading a book. You get it right ?! This past Sunday I attended the Annual Vegetarian 🌱 Food Festival in NYC ( my favorite city in the world 🌍) . It’s the 6th year in a row that I’ve been going. I just love 🤗 to connect with vendors, and entrepreneurs who are creative in coming out with new products to sell, but their main focus is to make our planet a better place to live by practicing non-harming (Ahimsa) towards the animals of our planet. I also get to see social media celebrities that I follow whom inspire me daily. Сегодня вспомнила себя 5 лет назад❤ Май 2013, выпускные экзамены в Финансовом Университете при Правительстве РФ. Сразу после госов, глава Департамента Минэкономразвития, приняв у меня экзамены, сделал предложение работать у него в структуре. И что вы думаете я ответила? НИ ЗА ЧТО!!! к этому времени я успела поработать и в Правительстве Москвы (деп-т СМИ и рекламы) и в администрации города, и в самом Минэке (деп-т развития малого и среднего предпринимательства). И после всего этого туда - ни ногой! Не знаю, может мне одной так «повезло», но такой сумасшедшей неэффективности я не видела нигде и никогда больше. Помню, однажды, меня попросили побыть в качестве курьера (стандартно для студентов-практикантов) и съездить в другое здание того же минэка (сто уже странно и нелогично, структура ведь одна, должны взаимодействовать как-то), но я согласилась. -Ок. Я готова, давайте документы. -Документы уже там. -Где? -В том здании, в который тебе нужно съездить. -Вы серьезно?! То есть мне нужно поехать в другое здание того же минэка, чтобы взять доки, спуститься на пару этажей и передать их в другой кабинет в ЭТОМ ЖЕ ЗДАНИИ??? -Нет. Спускаться не нужно. Кабинет находится на том же этаже, через одну дверь. -😱😱😱 Не могу передать какой ужас и страх за нашу страну я тогда испытала. В общем, получив диплом специалиста по государственному управлению, страной я не управляла ни дня. Может и к лучшему, не женское это дело 😉 . А есть ли те, кто работает или работал по специальности, отзовитесь!) Очень интересно)) пока знаю только одного такого человека 😊

It’s not much to look at but I whipped up this “Last Minute Chocolate cake” last night with Maple Cashew Frosting. I had some left over raw Cashews from my vegan “cheese” making excursion on the weekend. It was thrown together. It was super easy, super dense & moist and the frosting is a bit tangy like a good cream cheese frosting. This whole recipe only has 1/2 cup of sugar but you wouldn’t know because it is so rich. the rest are the natural sweeteners agave and maple syrup. I will never go back to a diet that is not %💯% plant based. I feel the best I have ever felt, I have learned to develop a relationship with everything I put in my body, and in turn I am more environmentally conscious and practicing true ahimsa. We’re amazed to see “wild” animals doing that exact act on NatGeo because we’re in awe that they feel what we feel, but, unimpressed when it comes to the animals who have been chosen by us, humans, to eat. •~~~~~•~~~~~•~~~~~•~~~~~•~~~~~• ✨When I realized we were both MOTHERS, and I HAVE felt the pain of being separated from my children, how can I sit back, contribute, and accept this to be the reality for another being? •This is where we differ: I’m not milked for the remainder of my life by a machine for another species so they can consume nutrients nature formulated for a growing calf... and my children are not tied down to be slaughtered for veal (male calves because they can’t produce milk) or raised to be raped and milked (female calves) and eventually slaughtered for human consumption• •~~~~~•~~~~~•~~~~~•~~~~~•~~~~~• Be mindful of what you put in your body. Dairy, contrary to popular belief, causes osteoporosis, digestive problems, poor skin, and cancer. Traditionally used in meditation, they are often 108 beads (plus 1 guru bead) and made of wood or the rudruksha seed. Gemstones are also commonly found in a necklace or bracelet to add additional meaning and vibration. Mala beads have been used in Buddhism and Hinduism for centuries. They encourage a calmer mind, body, and soul. If you find yourself drawn to a particular piece, listen to your intuition. There is a saying that you do not pick your make...your mala picks you! . . SETTING YOU INTENTION WITH YOUR MALA: .1.Set the stage Light a candle, and find a quiet place where you won’t be disturbed. . .2. Gain Clarity on Your Intention Take some time to look within and see what you are hoping your mala beads will manifest. Get as specific as you can about how you want to feel and what you want to create and achieve. . . 3. Choose a Mantra . Condense your intention into a mantra. There is a very real power in wording your mantra in the present tense, as though it has already manifested. For example you would want to choose, “I Am Patient and Present” as opposed to, “I hope to be patient and will try to be more present.” . 4. Activate your mala beads . Pick up your mala beads and repeat the mantra once for each bead (minus the marker beads). . . 5. Align with your heart and intuition . After completing the round of your mantra, hold your mala at your heart centre for a few moments and focus on your intention. I know I’m going to catch mad shit about this because I come from a small country town where everyone raised animals for agriculture. BUT, this is just one of many reasons I stopped eating animal products. If you’re an environmentalist and you’re not vegan, you haven’t been told the truth. Open your eyes and do a little digging, find out what the agriculture industry doesn’t want you to know. We are destroying our planet. I don’t know about you, but I want to create a better world for my children and grandchildren, not use up every last resource and leave them with nothing. I like earth 🌏 let’s show her some love ❤️

Por mucho tiempo trabajé en mi práctica de yoga sin tener en cuenta dónde ponía la fuerza mientras practicaba Ásanas. ⠀ Después me lastimé. ⠀ Estas heridas me permitieron empezar a investigar cómo practicar yoga de manera que fuera sustentable para mi cuerpo. ⠀ Así descubrí que durante muchos años había estado practicando cargando el peso de mi cuerpo en mis articulaciones. ⠀ En el Trikonásana de la foto pueden ver que la rodilla derecha está flexionada. Esta flexión me invita a hacer fuerza con los músculos a lo largo de la pierna, en vez de cargar el peso en la articulación de la rodilla derecha.
