From Hyden we headed back to the coast, and set up in Albany for a few days.
From here you can day trip both east and west, and cover most of the major spots, without spending half the day in the car. We spent 4 days here, but you could easily spend a whole lot more.
There are heaps of different types of accomodation available depending on what you want, but we did find again that things are pretty booked at this time of year, so I’d just double check before rolling into town 👍
With beaches as spectacular as anywhere we have been so far you won’t be disappointed.
The bay at Emu Point is also a great spot to spend the morning. A jetty, swimming area, playground and coffee shop make it easy to lose track of time.
To the east you have places like Nanarup and Two Peoples Bay which both offer great spots for swimming in the perfect aqua water. Cheyne Beach is also supposed to be spectacular (but with the weather turning we chose to keep heading west). To the west you have Torndirrup National Park, where you’ll find The Gap and the blowholes. You could easily head further west from here if you wanted too, but our plans see us picking up the rest of the spots we want to check out from there 👍
