Parents - They set the bar for how poorly we allow others to treat us. Remember that Jesus said the fight is not against flesh and blood it’s against powers and principalities. When I was 5 years old, my mother took me out of wrestling practice because she didn’t like to see me getting beat up. My intolerance for disrespect stemmed from this relationship. You see, she pumped me full of confidence, ego, worthiness and appreciation for everything that I was as a little human. Due to this wonderful creature that I call Mother or Ama, I can see, I can hear, I can taste, I can feel and I can definitely smell anything fishy coming from a mile away. Thank you for setting the bar of respect extremely high, I am forever grateful.

R-E-S-P-E-C-T - It was our parents who showed us what the word, Respect, means. We would always ask ourselves, would our parents talk to us that way? If the answer was NO, our parents would not treat us that way, then it was time to remove ourselves from that situation. It was these two people that always treated us with dignity, compassion, honesty, and a wish for our wellbeing that we learned what human interaction should actually be like. There is a vast difference between taking an order, and being talked to with disrespect. They are the only two people who we will allow to disrespect us if they wish to, and they simply don’t. Respect is earned, and these two have earned every bit of it! @.1998
