Not quite how I would have written it, but it is what it is. Snatch session went well, body moved pretty good and no pain. Mentally felt prepared, and came away with a near snatch comp PR at 120kg (thought I had it 😂.... 111/116/120x). Went into #cleanandjerk session with good energy, ready to make up for the missed chance to get outta there with a PR.
Warm ups went well, but quickly realized weeks of not being able to go full throttle leading up to meet may mean I have to back off some with attempts, as legs and body felt not as strong under loads. After missing a lower opener, I got greedy and made a small bump up (to my original planned opener after a stupid jerk miss) which bought me a few extra needed minutes of rest between attempt. Sloppy pulls and turnovers made the clean rough and the jerks feel off and heavy. Bombed out and that was that.
Just didn’t have it. But it’s all good, felt nice to get some fire back in me on that 120kg. Learned that I need to listen to my body day of meet, not be stubborn, and that I am not immune to bomb outs.
Excited to get back to training, focus on having fun, gaining muscle and fitness, and get back in groove. Probably gonna start with some light squats, heavy bench presses, and a steady diet of bicep curls and triceps pressdowns.
