#aquarium #shrimp #bonsai #tinytree #fishtank #hobby #aquascape #freshwater #fish #fishing #seafood #nature #garden A combination of my interests in gardening, zoology, fishy stuff . . . This is my shrimpery. Actually just a 10 gallon planted tank with freshwater cherry shrimp (5 males and 10 females) a Nerite snail (mows through algae) and an assassin snail which I introduced because I had a small infestation of pond snails. The pest snails are almost gone so I removed the bigger ones and left a little assassin for any that may have been missed. The assassin is currently sharing a meal with my shrimps in a Petri dish of food. In theory, this carnivorous snail can eat my shrimp but any shrimp that allows itself to be caught by a freakin snail ... does not deserve to be in the gene pool. The shrimps are wicked fast and I saw a couple of berried ( carrying eggs) shrimp already. Easier to look after .... than aquarium fish due to a lesser bioload. (They poop less.) I supply them with shrimp food and a mineral block to make their shells stronger. Recommend it if you aren’t ready to look after fish. I’m also growing anubias on petrified rock but they’re slow growing ... rather like bonsai but not as much! The grassy plants are actually microswords.
