Al Bahar Towers in Abu Dhabi
The 30-story Al Bahar towers in Abu Dhabi are not famous for their height, but for the design features.
The main task of the architects of the Al-Bahar towers was to provide coolness in the office premises provided the 50-degree heat outside the building walls without the use of many air-conditioners. To do this, a giant shielding facade was created from more than 1000 moving elements that open and close during the day, depending on the position of the sun. This lattice facade covers almost the entire area of the walls of both buildings, except for their northern side. At the same time, mobile grids not only reduce the flow of heat to buildings by 50%, but also ensure its ventilation and reduce the need for artificial lighting. Thus, the skyscrapers are covered with a kind of "skin" consisting of 2000 umbrella modules, managed from a single center #archihunter #architects #public #archisearcher #design #construction #officestyle #emirates #abudhabi #tower
