It was last Wednesday evening when a crazy thought came into my mind. Last week I was quite busy with some deadlines on Friday. Because I had to concentrate in front of the computer all the time, my brain seemed to have some errors that made me feeling the need to do something quite crazy. I tried to suppress this thinking because I really need to meet the deadlines by the end of the week. My attempt failed on Wednesday evening when I suddenly thought about taking a day off on Friday and starting my weekend on Thursday evening.
I woke up expecting the thought to have gone after some rest. Unfortunately, it was still there. What I did firstly that day was deciding that I would go to my favorite #city in #Belgium, #Gent ( #Ghent), finding a place to stay, and arranging the transportation. After that, I cycled towards the office thinking "What the hell I have just decided." Entering the office, I realized that I had to work like crazy until 4 PM to finish all the works I had to have finish on Friday. I was pessimistic about meeting the deadlines. It was a miracle that I finished what I needed to do and met the deadline one day earlier.
Long story short, it was a great long weekend for me. It was my second visit to Gent in the last 4 weeks and I enjoyed my stay there even more than before. I felt familiar with the city like someone living there. Besides that, I also felt very happy and free, probably because of the impromptu and unplanned trip. Doing such a thing can be extremely fun.
The photo I am sharing was taken in Ghent, not in last weekend but from my visit 4 weeks ago.
