Day 2 MOROCCO / KASBAH AIT BEN HADDOU / one of the oldest village in Morocco I think. Most of them already moved to the new village but there's still local staying here. . . . Fun fact: they used green tea as a way to communicate secretly before. And you gotta heat up the paper to see the message. . . . . . . #ducktravels #duckscarves #tizintichka #aitbenhaddou #moroccovacations #moroccotourist #moroccotrip #atlasmountains #atlasmountainsmorocco

My people. #Berber #Jews are the Jewish #Communities of the #AtlasMountains in #Morocco, and previously in #Algeria, which historically spoke #Berberlanguages. Between 1950 and 1970 most emigrated to #France, the #UnitedStates, or #Israel. #Jews #Hebrews #Israelites #Natives

I loved meeting Faltma (sp?) in her traditional Berber family home. I didn't speak any Berber and she didn't speak any English but I quickly got a sense of her character. 100 years old with great great great children! Her physical ability was admirable as she didn't mind stopping on a stool to warm her hands by the fire, or spend all day picking olives or hand washing clothes for the family. She had so much warmth and a good sense of humour. She made me feel very welcome despite my embarrassment that I only speak one language 🙈. The Berber women are the (often) hidden talent of Morocco. I am fascinated by their lives, artistic abilities and culture. #ouzoud #Morocco #amazigh #atlasmountains #solotravel #travel #Berber
