You don't have to run to get results.....
Read on..... Before you hop on the elliptical or treadmill to lose weight and torture yourself let me give you so words of wisdom from someone who gets it. LUUUUUUKE 😀Do Run If:
✓ You love running.
✓ You get high from it and it jacks you up!
✓ You have a sweet outdoor spot or path and good tunes on your Spotify playlist.
✓ You want to run a marathon or smaller race like a 5k (BTW I'm helping the with their strength training routines in Unleash The Marathon Runner Within co-collaborating with
✓ You need to get in more cardio and it's easy for you to strap on your shoes and run outside. Get good running shoes> 😫Do Not Run If:
🛑You hate running. Forcing yourself to do it won't make you love it. Mindset is everything.
🛑You have knee issues. This will only aggrevate your joints more if your muscles are weak.
🛑 You have disc injuries or slipped discs. This will put a lot of pressure on your spine and send shock up your spine if you are running on pavement.
🛑You feel pain when you run. Not just physical exhaustion. Like.... actual pain! Listen to your body and consult with a PT. 😁You Could Also Do This Instead:
🥊Try another form of cardio you may like such as biking, swimming, dancing, rowing, skating, skiing, hiking, rock climbing, trampoline jumping, jump roping, boxing.
🤙Train in multiple planes. Add running in 1x. A week in addition to something that gets your heart rate up that you enjoy and isn't just moving in one plane of motion. Like a low weight Tabata or HIIT class.
💪💪💪STRENGTH TRAIN- especially your glutes, legs and core to become a better runner if you like to run or just a stronger and more athletic person if you don't like to run.
Take home point, when in doubt do what you love & cross train.
