Well, the skies have been so gorgeous lately I had to break out of my bedtime-at-7pm habit and get out there…..this time with Rita @greenfrogphotography , and we plonked ourselves down on chairs and chilled out for a while at The Tree…..and when I say ‘chilled out’ oh my goodness it was 7C degrees of Arctic wind freezing our arses off…….remember now people, we live in sub-tropical Queensland. This is COLD WEATHER!!! But we were determined to shoot some star trails, and if you are not in the know, stars are constantly moving….. or planet Earth is….anyway whatever, there is movement happening and so to capture that movement, I shot 163 images with identical settings, on a tripod, over about an hour and a half, and then stacked all those images up in a clever little program on my computer and BOOM: Star Trails! It’s quite clever really (and FYI the only time i ever have more than one shot in an image). I know….not for everyone, but I rarely get out shooting the night sky so it was a bit of a treat. Thoughts?? .
