Installing the remaining balustrade (it was never there in the first place for some reason) - and finishing painting the hallway - is high on the list after a certain little 20 month old has worked out that she can climb the side and venture through that opening. (We have a baby gate at the bottom of the stairs). I know, I know, it doesn’t help that I have put a sweet little step up there for her in the way of a footstool. Fun fact? That footstool and drawer beside it was my nanas. She purchased them in an auction in the 50’s. When she gave the set to me they were a delightful dusty pink colour. I sprayed them white, but not very well so was never able to display them properly. Until that is, our amazing neighbour in Brisbane took them and sprayed them right and they turned out perfectly. I could never find the right space in our homes either, for where to put them. And now here they are, in a sweet little nook in our hallway, proudly belonging in a 50’s house again.
