URGENT! RESCUE NEEDED FOR MOM AND 3 PUPPIES!
Palmdale CA - *kennel card says she knows sit, shake, kiss on command*
My name is QUEEN and I'm an approximately 1 year 1 month old female pit bull. I am not yet spayed. I have been at the Palmdale Animal Care Center since October 14, 2018. You can visit me at my temporary home P4511.
Queen came to playgroup today for her first assessment. Queen was introduced into a multi-dog yard where she showed to be timid of the other dogs initially. When they approached, Queen froze, tucked her tail and back legs under her body, her eyes widened, and she looked fearful as they sniffed her. Once they finished, Queen walked away exploring the yard or standing around handlers soliciting attention. When the dogs would approach her again, she would exhibit this same behavior. If the dogs spent too much time sniffing her, she would curl her lip exposing her teeth and the dogs would give her space. Queen seemed uncomfortable initially, but after a few moments in the yard I saw her body posture relax, her tail untuck, and she trotted around the yard more at ease. When the dogs approached she would again freeze, but the degree of her correction (if any, was lessened). Overall Queen seems to be a dog whom is social with handlers, but uncomfortable with dogs being in her personal space at this time. She did not show a distinct playstyle at this time, but we feel that she will do best in a gentle and dainty group.
