- Plan B initiated! -
So y’know how hubby and I had this brilliant plan in place for me to hit the gym when he gets home at 1730 from work?
That didn’t happen.
Didn’t quite go to plan.
You see, this gorgeous little munchkin decided her daddy’s first week back at work would be the perfect time to act up.
Outta nowhere she’s unsettled,
taking hours to put down for a sleep,
and mummy has had little to no rest.
Hubby has come home from work to a clingy baby and a zombie wife. Not a perfect pair!
I put the gym on hold the first 3 days of the week and hubby gave me a few hours of solid sleep when he arrived home from work instead.
Now today is my first day feeling like a tide has turned. Little Evelyn slept for 3hrs after each feed during the night (winning!)
She’s been pretty chilled out so far today too.
As for me, I feel like a new woman after some solid sleep, a shower and a hot coffee. Things I’ve taken for granted in the past.
You can have all the plans in the world but sometimes you just gotta go with the flow and wing it.
I’m not losing sight of my goals,
I’m just accepting and acknowledging that there’s gonna be speed humps along the way that slow me down, and that’s okay.
Slow progress is better than no progress at all.
And when I have this little bundle of love in my arms, it makes the ride all the more worthwhile.
